Its really a bit of a tall order to give an accurate diagnosis to any equipment that has suffered a high energy burst of static electricity, as totally random areas of a circuit board can have components blown, however speaking in general terms a flashing timer or power light on front of any JVC TV etc indicates that the power unit has shut down for safety reasons, as a fault has been detected in the internal circuitry, usually an IC(s) being blown. Needless to say it always requires to be investigated by a trained technician.

I have a jvc model c13710. The remote is gone so I set it up on a universal remote. I cannot control the menu with the remote however. The problem I'm having is that the lock code got locked and I need to know how to unlock it. I can't type in any numbers with the remote and the 'lock' is locked when I select that option. Can you help?

Have you tried with your radio set to cd, pushing the stop button and the open tray at the same time? I did with mine and it worked.

Just purchased a used JVC MX-J30 mini stero. Need an op manual, but so far haven't located one. Need to know how to set clock, and the cassette tape player doesn't seem to work, and i'm hoping its the dumb operator. I'll appreciate any help you can give.

    Thanks,

I have a two year old JVC HX C6 compact stereo that goes into "protect" mode and immediately shuts down when powering the unit up. I reinitialized the system by depressing the Rhythm AX button and checked the speaker wiring which did not resolve. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Robert

Chloe - You haven't even mentioned what brand / model of camcorder you have. Also do you see any error codes on the screen?
