I have a JVC television model# AV- 27D800 w/Guide plus. I can no longer get sound or any image other than a blue screen on the main tuner. When I turn the set on I get it for about 1second, then blue screen. I can still view and listen to the channels on the PIP and Guide Plus features. I have Comcast cable and in trying to troubleshoot with them I received the same instructions as in the pamphlet for reset of the reception. Now I only get channel two. I can still view DVDs or videos on the main tuner screen. Can you help??? Bruce

Strongly suggests the lens cap problem, as your model can suffer from that fault, full info supplied via DIRECT e-mail.

    Hi,
I had given my JVC TV model no: AV-29WX3; Sl. No: 13780225 29" for repair in Goa at a JVC-Onida Service Centre.

The complaint written was as follows:
As TV is switched On the screen turns white and goes on standy by after 10 seconds where its directly switched off.

When I went to collect the bill, I was supprised as the Service Charges was Rs.1000/- and component charges Rs.245/-

I would like to know the Service Charges from the company because as per the technician said they have charged me Service Charges of Rs.1000/- mentioned by the company of Adonis.

Please Reply me as its urgent.

    Kindly do the needful.

    Thanking You.

    Regards,
    Annette Riva Po.

At the least! can be caused by using a cassette that is wound on too tightly stopping the capstan turning properly, otherwise its an internal repair.

Thanks for input. I tried a couple of different tapes and got same message. However, after leaving camera off over night, I find it working today.

I have a JVC GR-D32U. The view finder and the screen show black and say the lens cap is on, even when it is not. You can not record any picture, but you can record sound. It will play back video from previous tapings. It worked great until today. Not sure what to do. My parents are going on a cruise and want to tape theri journey. Any help would be great......

I have recently bought a JVC digital camcorder model # GR-D370U and ser. # 08124548. It didn't come with a user's manual and I want to know how to set the date and time and also if there is anyway a can download a user's manual for free. I've searched on-line but I can't seem to find anything. If you could please help I appreciate it much.
    Thank you!!

    Sincerely,
    Jill La Greca

You can obtain the GR-D370US manual if you go onto JVC's home page / support / downloads and enter the model number in the box, you will then be given the GR-D370 with two suffix choices, the US is effectively the same as the U. I cannot pass the link on, as you have restricted your e-mail address which only leaves pechorins reply box, and this blocks anything other than plain text being sent.

E-06 fault indicates that the capstan is not turning properly, this can be caused (at the very least) by a cassette that is wound on too tightly, or indeed faulty. Should another tape work OK, then you will have to back off the tension in the one you recorded on, if however there was no difference with another tape then there is a fault in the capstan drive.

I have the same problem with a JVC that I just purchased about 3 months ago. Model is GR-D370u. It does it either with a tape or not. I know you mentioned that it's the capstan drive. How do you suggest I go about getting that fixed. What are the costs involved with fixing it? Thanks, Eddie
