I have a jvc av-48wp74. I turn the set on and I get high voltage, but the set shuts off shortly afterwards. I unsoldered the collector of the horizontal output transistor, the set came up and stayed on a while longer. Could it be in the vertical circuity, or is it in or past the fly back? Thanks for your help, Sean Hopper

I have a 2 year old JVC GR-D30U which I bought in Toronto Canada in August 2003, It no longer records video. the playback function works fine and it will record sound but it seems that it cannot pick up any video to record. I have had some problems with condensation in the camera before I wonder if the problem is related to this. this has been a problem since I've bought it actually (condensation in the camera) Any advice would be appreciated thank you Liam

Hi -- I saw this note on the pechorin.com web site, i am having the same problem: "Re: JVC service or questions Samantha Tschida - 24th Nov 2004 18:15 I bought a JVC I'Art (AV-27F803, I believe) nearly 2 years ago. It is shutting off by itself and the "On Timer" button is flashing. In the manual, it says that when this happens I must unplug the tv and call for service. Sometimes I notice some static-type lines across the screen and just before it shuts off the bottom half of the screen will go black." Is the TV just busted?

Did my tube go out? or is there something else that is broken. I didn't see any smoke or flashes, just a black screen? Any suggestions can help greatly..thanks.

I, too, am getting the lense cap on message along with a very dark screen. There is still a vague image being displayed but not decipherable. Rarely, it will decide to work for a few minutes and then go back to the dark side. It is a GR-D31U purchased a little over two years ago. Any direction would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

I have a JVC TH-606. Evertime I turn it on the sub turns it's self off which then in turn makes the whole unit worthless. Any suggestions?

Hi, I posted the same message on Pechorin's site, but I haven't gotten a response yet. Our JVC video camera GR-DVL520U said to insert head cleaner. We did so, and the screen remains blue all the time. It will not play back any tapes, or record on blank tapes. What should we do? Thank you, H. Avila

Hi Stacy. We own a, little over a year old, GR-DVL720U. We had a little trouble with it on vacation, in August, and attributed it to humidity. Recently, the unit has gone into safeguard mode and displays E4. The cassette mechinism will not fully close. The current trouble appears to me, to be a software issue or a low battery, all thought the battery is fully charged. Our camcorder has only recorded about 15 tapes. My wife uses it allmost exclusivly to document our 17 month old baby and is very carefull and unfortunately very dissapointed. I have contacted 2 service facilities and they both are looking for a minimum of 200 dollars for repair. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter; John Carlson
