E04 Unit in safeguard mode : Remove and Reattach Battery I have had this same problem since my warranty ran out on my JVC DV camcorder. When I turn it on to record or play, a code appears on the display screen "E04 Remove and reattach battery. Unit in safegaurd mode." I have tried to remove the battery and replace it and I have the head cleaned. Twice I have brought it in for repairs but over time the same thing comes up. Can any one tell me what causes this and how to rectify it.

Dear Stacy, Our 2.5yr old JVC TV AV-20N11 suddenly stopped working with the Timer light continually blinking orange. I managed to find the Instructions Manual on the JVC US website but I'd greatly appreciate a soft-copy of the Service Manual. Cheers, Abel, FIJI

Trouble shooting help required. JVC Surround sound receiver I think I melted or burned up my JVC RX-558V. I had my RX-558V on, and on it's face while trying to plug everything into the back. I smelled something electrical and now it doesn't work. It'll come on and indicate FM then indicate overload right away. I checked all the little fuses and they seem ok. What did I melt or burn up? Please rsvp soon, I need my bach, mozart etc....... Steve

I have the same problem with my Model GR-DVL505U digital video camera that others have stated. I have a tape cartridge stuck in the assembly and an error message "E01 Unit in Safeguard Mode" and "Remove and reattach battery". The unit is inoperable.

Does JVC have plans to honor or recall the problem associated with the GR-DVM 70 U design flaw with the control buttom just popping off?

Hello Jvc, I have a newly purchased 32f475 tv. 1 problem I noticed was with a THX optimizer on a DVD I had ( the DVD title is " The Final Countdown" ). In the THX optimizer test, there is one image with a circle and 1 rectangular box within another rectangular box. I can see the circle and the inner rectangular box just fine. The outer rectangular box I can see 3 out of 4 sides. The side that is missing is the left side. It starts out at the bottom left and about a quarter way up the screen curves very gently to the left ( which is why I can't see that portion ) The right side of the outer rectangular box also gently curves to the left. While picture quality is fine with DVD's and regular tv, this result of the test is slightly annoying. Is there anything available in the service menu ( yes I can access it, but I won't use it...yet ) that will reset the display geometry? I think what I am looking for is a pincushion or trapezoid type adjustment. If you cannot tell me due to policy, can you point me to ordering a service manual, or a website perhaps? Thanks, Bob
