Perfect, thank god for internet. Got my batteries and MS out and slammed the camera twice. Camera DSC P52. You guyes saved me 150 euro's that Sony wanted to charge me.
hello hi i had the same problem with f707. i used "SMACKED" method. you used need to turn off your camera and smack it ( hit it) 2 times (twice) . i close dthe cover of lens and hit it upside down on my mouse pad in front of the lens barrel. woow problem gone. it looks funny but i swear it works. thanks
i had sand in mine too the banging worked i was really worried about doing it have to hit it harder than you think you should
worked on a DCR-PC101... acouple of whacks and there ya go, call me the Fonz
MAN worked for me too...the whacks are a winner..GENIUS!!!
Hello I am Spanish and do not understand the word "barrel", it was to know where exactly to give the blow to the camera and without with a lot of force or not .I have a sonycybershot DSC PC50. Thankssssssss
I have a sony dcr pc109 and got the dreaded e:61:10 message 2 weeks ago. I googled the error and came upon this page. I tried the smack method and it worked initially, but the camera quickly stopped working a few hours later - same message again. Subsequent smacks did not yield any results. Sony wants $269 flat rate to fix the camera. I tried a local camera repair shop - they tried to fix it and said I needed to send it back to sony. I'm stuck deciding whether it's worth it to fix this camera, or just go buy a new one (with an extended warranty).
