Sony DSC F707 error e::61:10

I have a Sony DSC F707 and when i picked it up the other day it was flashing e::61:10 and my zoom dosnt work if any one knows how to fix this or even what it means please let me know

  This is really bad customer service and a stupid fault thing.

  I hit the barrel twice and it works again, miracle!

  Thanks for your solution. I am so happy...I was afraid because I had the same problem and it is not my camera...I had to hit the barrel (first off all I had to know what that is because I am German)not only twice and a bit hard but now it works again...

    and what is the barrel (I have no idea either and have the same problem). Does anybody have an idea what causes the problem?

  Hitting the camera (I am not sure whether I hit the the barrel) really works!! Amazing how the most primitive repairing method ever turns out to be effective again!!!

  I reset my camera and gave it camera two light whacks against my hand, and now it works perfectly.

  I found this site basically by accident in a google search when my camera started flashing this message; I had restrained myself from the initial instinct to smack it a few times, but on the advice of several people here... what do you know, it worked!

  Initially the 2 bangs worked , however shortly thereafter the error returned i continued two bangs and without fail the error returned. Any othersolutions? sony wants $ 159.00 to repair.
