Sony DSC F707 error e::61:10

I have a Sony DSC F707 and when i picked it up the other day it was flashing e::61:10 and my zoom dosnt work if any one knows how to fix this or even what it means please let me know

  Worked for me too! I have a DSC-T33. Whacked it against my desk with two "medium" hits (halfway between lightly tapping it and banging the crap out of it) on the top of the camera above the lens. Worked the first time! Thanks!!!!

  Unbelievable it really works WOW, I was at Sea World and accidentally my Sony F717 Digital camera slipped out of my hands and since then getting error E:61:10, i came across accidentally i tried 10 -15 good smacks with the power off on the lens and woof.... it works and the focus works again... thank u all for posting your experiences on the web tech support . keep up the great work.

  We just tried the "banging method" and it eventually worked with our Mavica. We started out (with the camera OFF) slowly trying successively harder "taps" with the bang downwards on the "face" of the camera (on a rug with the lens cap on) being the one that finally did the trick. Saved us $160 bucks!!! Thanks!

    Yep, my T1 just had this error warning for no obvious reasons. Gave it a good hard hit and it whirred a bit, then worked fine. Thank god!

  I got the e::61:10 message after dropping my PC5 camera on the ground. After reading this forum I tried a few wacks and now it's working again.

  Wow! Sony wanted $211.00 to fix my camara (DCR-HC30) and I gave it a good smack on the side of the barrel and now it works fine. You are a genius

  Hi, trust me. I had the same proplem. The solution is that "smacking remedy" the guy before you told. It´s unbelievable. But my camera works again....
