Re: JVC service or questions

JVC Television model 56WP74 JVC TV will not turn on when power is applied. Any suggestions? New TV, less than one year old. Checked outlet and breakers. Other components plugged into the same power strip work fine. When I hit the power button (remote or on the TV) power initially is applied, I hear some clicking (same as when it worked before), and then the power indicating light on the front starts blinking. No sound, no picture, no menus, and it doesn't react to hitting the power button or the remote. You have to unplug it to turn it off from this semi-on state. Everything was working fine yesterday, and nothing was changed until the TV wouldn't come on. Any ideas?

Julie Tucker - 8th Dec 2005 21:32 I had an engineer look at my tv, he explained that the switch failing and flashing is a cut off switch to stop the tv from blowing up, so anything could be wrong with your tv. (mine, to repair would of cost 3 times as much as the tv was worth...) and as the warrenty was only 12 months I could not claim anything from JVC. Hope this has answered you question, and you are right nobody seems to write on this forum....

I had same problem with JVC 27" TV. No power at all after working fine for years. Picture quality was great and then all of the sudden, it doesn't turn on. I wonder if anyone ever will respond to all of these questions. I also checked my fuse inside the set and it is fine.

My av32102 is doing the same clicking thing and no picture. Did you get it fixed?

I DID inquire and found out that it was a power supply problem, cost between $80 - $130 I was told with parts and labour to fix it, but is common with JVC's and is a pretty standard repair. I haven't been able to afford to fix it yet, but its cheaper than buying a new one :)
