Have a AV36D503 that is 2 months out of warranty. Turned it off, and now it does not come on anymore. Does JVC build them to break this way? Did they include a clock chip for this purpose? ;) Anyway, nothing happens when the power switch is pushed, probably not the tube since I don't hear the power supplies kick on. Would love some help that won't cost me money, else I think I will stick to another brand which by the way is a 35" and has been cooking for 10 years with no problems...thanks ja :)

I have a GR-AXM300 compact VHS camcorder. It has worked great for years, but now it shuts off when I put a tape in to record. It comes on and immediately shuts off, with battery or electric supply. It does not shut off when a tape is not in it. We live about an hour away from a service center and I was just wondering if you could give me some assistance with this problem. Thank You

I have a JVC-VHS offline editing system - recorder, playback, editing board and tv monitors that I no longer use. It is in excellent condition, except the playback needs a belt replaced. Is there somewhere I could sell or donate this equipment? I can't bring myself to take it to the dump.

    JVC Television model 56WP74
JVC TV will not turn on when power is applied. Any suggestions?
New TV, less than one year old. Checked outlet and breakers. Other components plugged into the same power strip work fine. When I hit the power button (remote or on the TV) power initially is applied, I hear some clicking (same as when it worked before), and then the power indicating light on the front starts blinking. No sound, no picture, no menus, and it doesn't react to hitting the power button or the remote. You have to unplug it to turn it off from this semi-on state. Everything was working fine yesterday, and nothing was changed until the TV wouldn't come on. Any ideas?

I have a 27" JVC TV, model AV-27230 which I bought in August 2002. The audio has stopped working both from the tv speakers and when connecting to an external amplifier. I have adjusted the volume control, checked the mute button (on/off) and been through the menu checking signal types and trying the speaker on/off settings. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have the same tv, and found that you had the identical problem. I went into CC closed caption and did find that it was off. I scrolled through to make sure it was Off, then hit exit. I next went to Hyper Surround, which at this moment I have no idea what IT DOES.. however, after hitting that key, the tv was suddenly found on channel 3, snowy picture, however.. had sound! I switched to channel 4 for my input and WORKS~! Hope this helps you, cause I have no idea what I just did. Kids were obviously hitting a million keys.. again.

    Hello,
I have a jvc model no. gr-sxm515u that I bought new. It worked relly well until the door to the cassette holder stopped opening allowing the cassette from being ejected. The battery is fully charged so I know it is not due to low power. Would you be able to assist me with this issue or do you know what my repair cost will be.

Hi, My 32" JVC TV has a huge black box in the center of the screen. It will still play the dvd, vcr, and regular cable.. you can hear and see about an inch of the show on the edges, but thats about it. What's causing this black box??? Thanks!

I ran into this problem after my kids had accidently thrown away the manual. My problem was caused by someone accidently turning on the closed caption. If you have the original remote. Then you will find a c.c. button on it. press it, and you will have the option of having text, etc., includding off. Make certain that CC is off.

How my 2 year old put the captions on, I don't know since it required some Menu navigation. But, your fix was the key. Wish I found this post three months ago!
