When my T1 is switched on. I can see the flash indicator, macro mode, # of shots left in memory, battery, etc. But i can't see anything else, it's all black. I suspected mechanical problem. Can anyone tell me what the problem is? Do i need a screen replacement?

I too have a Sony Cybershot DSC-T1. It suffered some water damage and the LCD screen currently does not function. There is some discoloration on the screen and it appears as though there is a crack in it, though it appears as though the crack is inside the screen. It is still capable of taking pictures, though on some outdoor pictures I've taken there seems to be a light blotch in certain regions of the pictures. My question is similar to some of the others that have been posted. Is it more cost-effective to have it repaired (I assume some repair shops will charge an arm and a leg to have it even looked at), or sell the camera as is? How much would you offer for such a camera? I can send you pictures of the camera if you would like. Thanks!

I have a Sony DSC-T1 which I sent to a Sony repair facility in South Texas to replace the cracked screen. Wish I'd seen your ads then. It works great, but I now have another problem with it. The display is all backwards. You need a mirror to read the screen and when trying to compose a picture, you have to move it opposite to the way you want the composition to go. 1. If you have an idea of what's wrong, I'd like to keep my camera. 2. Make me an offer. It has only the original 64MB memory stick.

I have a sony DSC - T1 cybershot i bought a little over a year ago and the LCD crystal screen is broken. It looks like there are large blotches and cracks but the screen itself is not broken. The camera still works fine. My question is would it be more cost effective to sell it to you, or to repair it. I see you are selling the replacement part that i need, so how easy is it to install this part? Also the battery is missing, but i have two 128mb memory cards with it. How much would i receive for this camera? (other than the screen it is in perfect condition)
