Samsung DEW Sensor Problem

Celena - 9th Dec 2004 4:49

HELP!! My MiniDV Samsung camcorder has shut down because "dew" keeps flashing on the LCD screen. It will not take a tape or do anything. Is there a way to reset the sensor or remove it. If so, where is it located within the camera? Thanks.

I have the same problem with my video cam. Any solution other than send back to the agents for repair?

DEW TAPE MESSAGE APPEARS IN THE SCREEN AND IS NOT POSSIBLE TO USE THE CAMERA, WHEN THE CARTRIDGE IS LOCATED, IS JUMP OUT.

Same with a Sharp didgital camcorder.....anybody who can offer an inexpensive disabling service for dew sensors would have a steady business project. The cost of replacement is very nearly the cost of a new, discount price, camera.

The gauge of dew - black small square hardly is higher than a video head
To wipe by pure cotton wool (not by spirit)
Not an outcome - to take apart the chamber to cut off the gauge, to replace by the resistor 470 Ohm

By replacing the dew sensor with a 470 ohm resistor did this fix your problem? This is so frustrating..I love my camera and want it to work, so I can complain about other things like its non ability to accept stereo input audio.. Peace, Pete
