Re digital video camera GR-D50. E04 Error code displayed. Unit in safegaurd mode. Eject and re-insert tape. Tape carrage moves as normal without tape in it, but inserting tape (repeatedly)always shows error code. Please note that the carrage will not go in with tape in place, ie error message stops from working. Any advice / help would be welcome. It seems there is much complaint re JVC / E04 Error.

My JVC GR-D31U is showing a lens cap message and the view screen is grey and white and blurry as well. I don't know if this is related to the condensation issues. If you have any information please let me know thanks kevin. The lens cap is removed.

I tried the removing tape idea, when you first turn it on, after 3 tries, it fixed the problem.

I have a JVC GR-SXM240U AND WHEN THERE IS NO TAPE IN IT ITS FINE BUT IF I PRESS THE PLAY REWIND FORWARD BUTTONG IT MAKES A SMALL CLICKING SOUND AND THEN THE SCREEN TURNS BLUE AND IT SAY THAT ITS IN SAFE GUARD MODE EO4 AND TO REMOVE BATTERY BUT THAT DOESNT FIX THE PROBLEM. NOW IF I PUT A TAPE IN IT, IT AUTOMATICALLY DOES THAT AGAIN. THANK YOU AND I APPRECIATE YOUR HELP PLEASE E MAIL ME BACK AT TINO1805@COMCAST.NET

Hi, This is not an icon/error code problem. I have a JVC GR-DVM50U and when I put it in playback mode all I get is a blue screen including the icons (blank time/date stamps flashing, battery charge etc) but no picture at all. In the record mode the picture can be clearly seen and all the features available. I am not sure whether the video/audio and all the time/date data etc is not being recorded or if it is being recorded but not being able to be played back. Any suggestions?

Dear Stacy Re: JVC 9000 My camcorder displays E03 and will not play - would you be able to let me know what E03 means and suggest what I can do about it! Many thanks. Michael Ridgway
