Re: Error Codes Assistance

I have a Sony CDX-4250. When I insert a CD, it sits there for a bit (the CD doesn't seem to spin) and then an error code of 04 appears on the screen.

I have no idea what this means or what I need to do to correct it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello Chris, I wound up going to Wal-Mart in a last ditch effort to fix this thing. I bought 1 can of canned air and a cd cleaner which was basically a CD with some tiny brushes glued on the surface. I started by using the air can to spray all around inside the CD compartment hoping to dislodge any dirt that might be in there. I then used the cd cleaner. I think I may have had to use it twice. But, after all that, it started working! Hope that works for you! Rodd

      Thanks for your advice, I'll go try that now. I just found the manual for the receiver online and it indicates that E-04 is a dirty disk or upside down disc error. Thanks again.

  I saw the solutions proposed, AIr can clean and then CD cleaner. Anyone else try this?
