Re: Convergence problems on AV-48WP30

Pat Bishop Posted Nov 19, 2006, in response to:Mark Venable

I replaced the two STK392-110 with two STK392-150. Seemed to go fine. But when I plugged the board in and fired the TV back up, the speakers just made a popping noise and the blue light blinked. Then the board started smoking at around the R854 point. In an earlier post Eric mentioned replacing the six 1 watt resistors. Two questions. Could a bad solder point on one of IC804 or IC805 cause a resistor to burn out? Is there a standard ohm resistor I can buy at Radio Shack to replace the exisiting resistors? They all seem to have a different ohm rating and I'm a novice at this whole deal. I guess one more question. Could a fried resistor damage other components in the TV?
