Hi, I purchased a JVC camcorder GR-D53 E from Gothenburg, Sweden on 21st August, 2005. Recently I am getting a problem with this. It is showing 'LENSE CAP' in recording mode ( A or M) even after removing the lense cap. In the play mode the camera is working fine both in picture and sound. I am now living at LosAngeles, CA. I contacted with the service center of Sweden and they like to repair the camera free of cost, but I have bear the shipping cost for up and down which is quite lot of money. Under the circumstance, I am really upset and don't know how to fix the problem of my camera. I shall be very grateful if you can help me to solve the problem. Looking forward to hearing from you...     The D53E may well be an European model but have you tried contacting JVC US?, as this problem also affects a large range on models in the US, Canada, UK, Australia and New Zealand, that is as well as many other non-English speaking countries. The important aspect about getting the repair carried out is, that you "MUST" be the original purchaser of the camcorder and have documentary proof of this fact.
