hii- i have a question, when you first put a disk in, and did not take any pix, is the disk symbol on the top right hand corner suppose to be blank or filled in? like.. a white cirlce or a blank circle? cuz im not sure which one means full disk. thanxx

I have a CD-500 with a couple of CD-RWs that have this C:13:01 error. The conventional wisdom with the floppies and even the memory sticks is to format them on a PC. How do I format a CD-RW on a PC. Actually I have a Mac, but I'm sure I can scare up a friend with a PC if that's what I need to use (have a PC at work, but no CD burner).

I am joining this chorus of problems with the C:13:01 Errors. I, too, have lost the very best photos ever, to this irritating problem. I had a Sony CD Mavica 400, and it punked out on me while overseas with this awful error. The shop I where I bought it told me it was cheaper to buy a new Sony CD Mavica 400 than to even have mine looked at...$250 just to look at the camera, and at least that much to repair it. I relented and just bought a new Sony CD Mavica 500. Guess what? The same error message appeared on the third disc I used...I've had it with Sony Mavica. I'm taking it back and getting back my money. Can any of you (1) Recommend any recovery software for my CD; and (2) recommend a better, more dependable digital camera?

same problem with new dsc-p32.. had camera about 45 days and then all the sudden memory stock error... the memory stick works fine in my other 2 sony cams but no other sticks work in this camera now.. i called sony she said rest the camera but does not work either. She said take it to nearest auth sony center which 380 miles away in California... I am also past my 30 day return so now im screwed.. sony will not even acknowledge this problem on there web site either.. i told her to make sure she notes that in her report that they should at least acknowldge this as a know problem or defect.. this stinks!

I am looking for help with the same C13:01 memory stick error message. This memory stick was filled, removed from teh camera and now exhibits the error message. When placed in a card readre on a PC (WIN2000) the system does not even recognize the media in the card reader. Any ideas are helpful. Please email me! Thanks, Jack
