Nick Good - 2nd Feb 2005 22:47 looking for Motherboard for Sony HCD S800 DVD player
- Re[2]: SONY ORIGINAL PARTS Stewart - 9th Feb 2007 17:38
Did you ever find a mother board for you Sony HCD-S800?
I think I also need the same part, what were your symptoms? I am unable to read CD's or DVD with the message no disk, I also have a very fuzzy splash screen (The main screen has many lines almost like it is outputting NTSC rather than PAL. I am suspecting the main boards as I have already replaced the laser.
If you did find one could you let me know where I could get hold of one?
Many thanks,
Stewart

I have repaired a different model Sony doing the same thing. The thing I love about alot of Sony units is, they use individual transistors for the "finals", or last stage of ampllification (as opposed to steak-packs, one big hybrid chip). I havent seen inside your model yet, as I havent opened my 740P yet, but here is one thing I would check for if you havent already. With a ohmmeter or digital multimeter with diode check, look for shorts across any of the high-power transistors (these are usually mounted on the aluminum heat sink in pairs, (1) positive channel and (1) negative channel). The ones in mine had a number like SK brand MN2488 ( the negative) and MP1620 (the positive) which were both shorted. (try combinations of all 3 pins) There were several pairs of these, and unfortunately required me removing an upper set to get access to the lower set, soldered to the main board. I cant remember the exact resistance values for the "good ones", but the "bad ones" were @0 ohms, regardless of the probe polarity. I desoldered them and retested them out-of-circuit to verify the short. I found replacements through MCM (www.mcminone.com)for less than $20 total. This included new fuses as well, AFTER the transistors were replaced. Hope that helps!!!!!!

Charles Rogers - 7th Feb 2005 23:32 Hello, I hope you are still doing this. If so I would like to buy a part for a dcr trv11. the number that is on the back is f1382 and or 3-060-113- it is the plastic part that goes over the lens and IR. I do not need the electronics for it.
Thank you for your time!
Charles

I'm looking for a lens cap for the lens hood for a Sony DCR-VX2000. Also, is this lens hood cap the same size as the vx1000? I'm also looking for an eye cup for the vx2000. Again, will an eye cup from a vx1000 fit on a vx2000 eye peice?
