I'm need a replacement MPEG board for a Sony DA SA30 home cinema system.

Is it possible for you to provide me with the part number or perhaps even a replacement board?

    Thanks
    Antonio.

    Hello

I'm looking for a good used record & mode switch assembly for a Sony TRV-308
Handycam. The red "button" broke off of mine; I can thumb the mode switch to "Play" or "Record" easily, but I have to poke the hole with a pen to start or stop the recording sessions, which is a major pain.
I called Sony, and they want over $60 for a new one, so I'd like to find a good used one at a more reasonable price.
    I'd appreciate any help, thanks.

I empathize with you. The Sony Handycam switches are made of cheap plastic. In 1997, my Handycam Model CCDTRV30, switch broke-off. I was on a trip at the time to Las Vegas. I purposely bought the camcorder for the trip. This incident ruined my trip. I never thought about moving the switch manually. I would pay the $60 for a new part if I were you as the camera is pretty good. I own the CCD-TRV308 and it worked perfectly since 2002 until recently. Suddenly the autofocus goes out of sync for no reason. It is ruining my taping. It happens only intermittently with no warning. I hate the new Sony's; many of them have "Touch-Screen" controls which means that you must use the LCD screen at all times!

I have a Sony DA80ES receiver that is flashing "Protector". In troubleshooting (without a manual), I managed to mangle the short rigid ribbon cable that connects the digital and RF boards.

    1. Where can I get a service manual for this, and
    2. How can I get that particular part once I have the part number?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I have the same player and just started having the same issue. I have had pretty good luck with Sony's products in the past. I have not yet found the motor alone. if I do, I will let you know.

I just came across the same problem with my DVP-NC600. It showed error code E:27 00. When I took it apart to find the problem, it's only the drive belt that broke. I'm currently looking for a new drive belt.

I replaced the whole laser pickup. I found it for a pretty good price here: http://www.electronix.com/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?ELECTRONIX_CATALOG_SESSID=9f73bd21c5b7559d9610bff9df261fc3&keywords=khm-240aaa&x=0&y=0 Now it spins just fine. The only problem is that I think I damaged the gold colored ribbon cable so after a few seconds I get an error saying that there is no disk. I can't find a part number on the damaged cable. Some luck.

Eric, I initially had the "no disk" error: make sure the top (white) plastic is also spinning...usually a light touch will realign it. I had the "no disk" problem first, NOW the disks have stopped spinning entirely, and I'm looking for a replacement drive. Thanks for the link!

Eric, OK, my last reply was ignorant. There is a solder short on the top side of the circuit board that needs to be removed. Remove it and the DVD player will stop saying 'no disc'.

      • Re[3]: SONY ORIGINAL PARTS Sparky - 25th Jan 2006 1:49
I purchased the replacement part for the Sony CD/DVD Player, somehow I was still getting a Insert Disk Error, I compared the two part replacements and find out that the Spin Motor was the correct part, but the laser beam module was not. Since my DVD Laser was still operational, I swapped out the spin motor only. I got it to work perfectly.
