When I want to record it is just a black screen. There is a little picture of a person and a mountain flashing on the bottom.

I have a JVC GR-D30U digital camcorder and want to know how to connect it to my computer and be able to watch and store my films on my computer. I do not seem to have any drivers on my computer and the computer is telling me that the camcorder is unrecognised. I have Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition. What can you suggest? Thanx.

JVC GR-DV3U. Just bought it used. Tried to take out the existing tape and put a new one in. (Brand new JVC tape). When I pushed down on the lid to close the tape drive (I pushed where it says "PUSH HERE") I had to push it several times before it stayed down; but the tape drive mechanism never finished loading the tape into the camcorder. It\'s now just stuck there and I can\'t get the tape out (pressing on the "PUSH HERE" does nothing)and the camcorder won\'t load it. When I \'close\' the over and re-open it (keep in mind it doesn\'t close all the way as the tape loading mechanism still has the tape half-way out of the drive)- I get the infamous Safe Mode E01 message. Obviously, resetting the battery does nothing... any advice? Thanks in advance. Ben

I'm having a similar problem with my GR-D30U. I press down where it tells me and it just pops back up. It might stay for 2 seconds at the most but it just pops back up anyway.

The upper left corner has a small box that says TV Central. Below that it says 1 iTV. How do I remove that box?
The TV is is 27 inches and I can\'t move it out to get the model number. I just bought it at Christmas at Sam\'s Club.
