Jerry Lowe - 22nd May 2006 1:49 I have a JVC AV-56WP30 TV. I have had it since 2002 and have had no problems with it until now. Recently the TV flickers very bad. It is only on an input source (i.e. The menus and convergence screen never flicker). It does not matter which input source I use it does it on all including the coaxial input. I have not equipment to test the DVI input so I am not sure about that one. I have tried to remove what boards I can and reseat them. I even found a small board (I could not begin to describe which one but it is the smallest daughter board plugged into the main board on the left when facing from the back of the set) Every time I tapped this board even a little the picture would flicker. I pulled the board and tried to re-solder as many connections as possible but this did not make any difference. I suspect it could have been caused by me dropping one of my main tower speakers against the side of the set. It hit hard enough to crack the plastic case of the TV. The problem did not start immediately following this but at least a month or so later. Should I replace the board I found or is there another possible cause? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated! Please send your reply via email if possible.

Hi I am another with an error code .....E02 doen what it recommends with no success any ideas or should I replace it with another brand.......will admit that if I had of had prior knowledge of all these problems with error codes I would never have purchased a JVC camcorder if this is uneconomical to repair then it will be another brand replacement and chuck this one in the bin Model details GR-DVL9000E The tape compartment will not shut with the tape in , I assume that the tape transport system is at fault

Maureen Yearwood - 22nd May 2006 18:39 Hello, I have a JVC projection TV model # AV50D501, serial # 10592070 that's about 6 years old, it has been working fine up to a couple weeks ago when I hooked up an Emerson dvd/vcr combo to it. Prior to that it always had the JVC dvd player, my tv set started jumping and making loud noises, and later on no picture, just snowy and loud noise. I tried to reprogram all the channels one at a time, but it keeps on deleting them every time. I called my cable provider, and they claim it is the TV and not the cable. What else can I do before I call a JVC service provider?
Thanks, Maureen Yearwood

B.Warner - 23rd May 2006 0:11 I have a JVC GR-70U. It won't turn on. I have tested the battery and power supply, no problems.
Is there a fuse somewhere?
Is there are service manual available?
Thanks in advance for any help.

One more success story -- my JVC AV-36980 died, just like the other ones mentioned here. It's VERY heavy, so I didn't automatically take it to a repair shop. I read the thread about the capacitor -- went to Radio Shack. I purchased the 272-1032 (It matches the C926 configuration because the leads stick out from the underside of the capacitor) So, I found the C926 capacitor on the board, unsoldered it, put the new one in. (Watch the postive negative issue. It's marked clearly on the underside of the main board. ) Plugged it in, fired it up and blammo -- it worked. Wow. I am soooo thankful to all of you who put this information out there. Regards, Gary Wilkes wilkesgm@aol.com

David S. Flom - 23rd May 2006 6:46 I recently purchased a JVC GR-DV800U DV camera. It was working well until the cassette holder kept popping open, popping up and generally not accepting the tape. The screen says it's in safeguard mode and to remove and replace the battery. That's been done several times, but no success. Any other cures?

viengkham mouangvong - 23rd May 2006 22:55 I have a JVC rear projector tv AV-61PRO and I always have problem with the power supply board ( stuck on standby )three times in five years. Every time I called the technician out it seem to be the same ploblem all the time and it does cost me a lots of money to get it fix. I just wonder if I can purchase a recondition or a comparable part for it as the service and part for this problem would cost me about one fifth of the tv price. Thank you
