I have a old JVC TV. Just recently the volume is not working. I cannot find my manual but the remote control is RM-420 TV Remote Control. Could that be the model? I vaguely hear people talking but it is vague. What could be the reason?

    Thank you.

Patrick, If you have Super VHS recording...you need to play it in a Super VHS player. This would explain that the recording plays fine in your camcorder and not your regular VCR. If your VCR is not a Super VHS unit...get a new one that is or switch your camcorder to record in normal VHS mode so you can play it in the VCR. Hope this information helps.

I have a JVC GR-D30U video camera. When I turn it on it tells me to remove the lens cap. When I remove the cap I still have no picture and it still tells me to remove the lens cap. What would you suggest?

    Thank You

Go to JVC.com > service and support > and then click on customer notification on the left side of the page. There you will find information as to get the "Lens Cap" problem repaired under warranty. Hope this helps.

This is a manufacturing problem, and a private e-mail has been sent with info on the procedure to obtain the "free" repair on this fault.

Hi. I have a JVC camcorder model # GR-SXM527. The other day i noticed a loose piece of something inside the camcorder where the cassette goes, but I thought it was normal and i put the tape there and tried to use it. However, the camcorder now won't turn on and an error message comes up saying "E04 UNIT IN SAFEGUARD MODE REMOVE AND REATTACH BATTERY" I was just wondering if you would have any tips on how to fix this... or at least how to open the cassette door without needing to turn on the camera. Thanks

Andrew, One of your guide posts may have been damaged or a part within the tape basket (mechanism) may have broken. When you put your tape inside...the tape probably jammed up because of this. You cannot open the tape compartment when it is not powered up or if the tape is jammed up. At this time you have a service issue. If your camcorder is out of warranty or several years old...it is better you buy new as repair can easily exceed or come close to the price of a new camcorder. Hope this helps.

I have a JVC Home Theater System model TH-C3 that is less than one year old. It has a five disc changer that will read just about any type of disc. Recently it has stopped reading any and all discs from all slots. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a JVC DR-DX77U and wanted to download a tape to my laptop computer to make a DVD. It does not recognize the USB device. Where can I download drivers?

Kitk, USB is for photo transfer. You need to utilize your DV connection / firewire IEEE port for video transfer. IF your pc does not already have a video program installed, you can get Pinnacle Studio 8 or 9 for video transfer and editing to your PC.

We just purchased a JVC DR-MV1S DVD recorder. This morning I put a VHS tape in the slot and it is now stuck. It won't go all the way in, it won't come out. The instruction booklet doesn't address this seemingly minor problem. Please tell me what to do to get the tape out. Thanks, Cathy

Try unplugging the unit for several hours. Upon plugging it back in...let it initialize for a few minutes and then see if the tape will pop out. IF it does not...then contact JVC at (800) 252-5722 for further instructions. IF you just purchased it...have that information ready for the customer service representative.
