Hello, thanks for your Offer. I own a S-VHS-C camcorder JVC GR-SX21EG and it suddenly didn't do anymore. i dismanteld it and see on the main PCB, that there is a SMD-Resistor dead near the positive voltage connector. I can't change it yet, because i cannot read the value on it. Do you have a service-manual or schematics for this model? Thank you in Advance
Best Regards Arno

Hi Stacey, I have a GR-D70AA that persisits in displaying condensation warning, remove battery and replace and safemode messages, even though there is no condensation. (fair to say that at one stage there was some possible condensation, but has since been rectified.) Do you know how to reset the camera or rectify the problem?? Any help would be greatly appreciated as much of our family holiday has passed with no vodeo record!!

Nancy - 25th Aug 2006 16:38 I have the same problem that I'm reading about from a lot of other people have with JVC auto radio's - power comes on fine, display works, but no sound from front speakers. Thinking it was probably the radio unit, I purchased a new JVC radio, plugged it in, exact same problem. Now what? Any assistance would be much appreciated.
- JVC service or questions -- no sound from speakers JVC car audio
Helpful - 4th Sep 2006 6:04 You very well could have a problem in your wiring harness or speaker wires in the car. It makes no sense the two radios are both not putting out audio. Have the wiring checked before going forward with another radio or replacement of the radio. Also, see if a local car audio place can do a bench hook up of the unit and check for audio output.

- JVC service or questions--HX-D7 Power Down
Helpful - 4th Sep 2006 6:09 First have your speaker wires checked for faults/shorts. That can cause the unit to power down if they are shorting out. If that does not work..then you need service or replacement if unit is not in warranty or very old.

I am also having the same problem with this unit...it seems that many people are indeed having the same problem. What can be done. I usually only go with jvc for my audio needs because i feel they are far superior. what can i do about this?

Daniel - 29th Feb 2008 23:47 I am also having the same problem with my JVC HX-D7. When I turn the unit on it goes into Protect mode shortly after. I have checked all the wires and even replaced the STK428-610 and STK428-640 chips which is what some people have said to have success with without any progress. Any ideas?

Hi, I recently put in a DV tape that had been damaged to see if it would still play. It wouldn't and furthermore I couldn't get it out of the camera witout forcing it. It tore of the plastic part of DV tape (which I'm not concerned about) but, I can't load other tapes and the screen keeps telling me that the camcorder is in Safeguard Mode and to take the tape out and reinsert it. That doesn't solve the problem. Now it's telling me to take off the battery and re-attach it. That doesn't work either. I think the battery is fully charged because the charge light doesn't light when I plug in the AC adapter. So I need your help. I'm not sure if I need to buy a new one or not. The model number is GR-DF450. Thanks. Keith Pennings San Jose, California

Helpful - 4th Sep 2006 6:15 Keith,
Well unfortunately you made two mistakes. The first was putting a damaged tape into the unit and the second was trying to force it out when it jammed up. More than likely you damaged the tape mechanism which is why it won't load and gives you an error. This is not a cheap repair. It will probably easily exceed the cost of a new model. Check out BuyDig.com or DBuys.com for prices on new camcorders. A new mechansim and labor will probably be no less than $400 for repair.

Keith Pennings - 4th Sep 2006 20:26 Thanks for you help. I was afraid I was n't going to get an easy solution to myproblem. I ended up going out and buying a sony DRC-HC36 camcorder to replace the one I broke and I bought the 4 year extended warranty. I'd be interested in knowing if you thought I made the right choice?
Keith
