I am having the same problem you identified – namely my TV shutting off on its own and then when I push the power button it goes on and then shuts off immediately. It will stay on for 50 minutes or so after I let it sit for a long time and try to power on again – only to repeat the problem again. Did you ever find out what causes this?

My JVC Model AV-32D305 has no power. The fuse inside appears to be OK. I have tried it on several outlets in the house.

I just picked up a JVC rx-707v receiver at a thrift store and have a question about the 1/2 Speaker buttons. I only get sound if 1 or 2 is depressed, but no sound if both are depressed. is this how it is designed, or should I be able to select both 1 and 2 speaker pairs at the same time?
thanks, Andy

yes i did! i called a authorized service center and they came out to look at it.he said it was definetly the convergence.so he opened the tv set and took the brains of the tv (the inside parts with all the controls and what have you)and in about 3 days i was watchin my big screen again! no red lines no double vision! they charged me about 250 bucks . believe me ,when you get your big screen back you'll know its worth it. go to jvc.com and click on service centers
put in your zip and a list of authorized service centers should pop up, DON'T LET THEM CHARGE U NO MORE THAN $250 IF ANY MORE THAN THAT THERE TRYIN TO ROB YA
good luck!
