Hello, I have a JVC model GR-SXM250U and have been receiving a E01 unit in safeguard mode error. I cannot eject my tape from the camcorder either. Any help would be gladly appreciated on this matter.
- JVC service or questions - Tape Jam GR-SXM250 E-01
Helpful - 4th Sep 2006 5:53 The tape jammed up is causing the error. The door will not open and allow eject of the tape if the tape is jammed up inside. You have a repair issue. Call (800) 252-5722. Depending on if you have warranty still...you may want to way the pro's and con's of repair. Minimum repair (labor/tax/shipping) is around $100/$120 to start. VHS models are very inexpensive at the store. Eval fee is due when you ship it to JVC. Eval fee is $50+tax/shipping and applied to repair. Be prepared to send that in if you get it repaired...it is not refundable.

My JVC Digital Video Camera, model GR-DVL320U, just went dead. No power from AC connector or from the batteries. Yes, I know how to connect the power cord to the unit and to the wall and the batteries were fully charged. I get nothing at all. Totally dead. Help!
- JVC service or questions--no power GR-DVL
Helpful - 4th Sep 2006 5:50 YOu probably blew a fuse. The power fuse is soldered onto the main board. This is a repair issue. FYI repair for 1 hour labor and parts can run about $200 +. Keep in mind a new Digital camcorder is not much more. Go to BuyDig.com for great deals. Check Wal-Mart as well and compare to the site prices.

I have a JVC TV Model AV27750, Ser#. 13123890. Recently the picture has been having approximately six inches of black lines across the bottom of the screen and after being on for twenty minutes or so has gone to a single bright line across the middle of the screen. If I leave it off for five or ten minutes and restart it, it will work for a while before reoccuring. Should I dump it and get a new one???

Stacy,
I have a JVC Mini Dv model No. GR_DVL120U. I have rarely used it and now I have gotten an 01 error message. The tape will not eject and the camera has gone into a safety mode. I took the battery out and waited, put it back in with no result. The carriage appears to be stuck. Any help would be appreciated.

- JVC service or questions--GR-DVL120U E-01
Helpful - 4th Sep 2006 6:00 Thomas,
I am not sure but my first concern is how long that tape had been inside the unit before you went to use it? FYI: if the tape was stored in the unit and is now jammed up..that may have been what lead up to the problem. Just keep in mind in the future (regardless of brand you own) to not store the tape inside the camcorder when you store it away for any length of time. Also remove the battery from the unit to keep the battery from draining power.
If storing the tape is not the issue..then maybe the tape you had was defective and jammed up after you put it in. It is hard to say. Either way...keep removing and replacing the power source (this resets the microprocessor) and then try to go thru the eject process over and over. Sometimes it will work if you are persistant 10-15 times or so. If not..then the tape jam is a service issue. The next thing to consider is if it is worth repair. The DVL120 is about 6 years old or so...new models are pretty reasonable on line and at the stores. If troubleshooting does not help..check out BuyDig.com and see the different brands/models they have. They also carry a great extended warranty thru Mack Camera for 4 years and usually under $70-80 bucks. Hope this info helps.

Hi,
Re: Problems with a very slightly used out of warranty Gr-D72
- All of a sudden no image on lcd or viewfinder during recording as if the lens cap is on when its not.
- Lcd and viewfinder work fine during a playback of previously recorded material.
What do you think is wrong? Can I fix it?
Thanks for the help.

andy - 28th Aug 2006 19:30 I'm using JVC receiver RX-558V for a CD player and tape player. The receiver keeps flashing overload and I'm getting no sound at all. Since I can't find the manual, I'm hoping you might have the solution. thanks, andy
- JVC service or questions-Overload problem with receiver
Helpful - 4th Sep 2006 5:32 Have your speakers checked for shorts first. Sometimes if a speaker wire is damaged or faulty..it can give an overload indicator. If they test ok..then the receiver needs repair. Receivers have 2 years parts/labor coverage FYI. Go to JVC.com (service & support) or call 800-252-5722 if you feel you need repair. Sometimes there is a local service provider near you. Check service and support and use your model # to find a repair center.
