We have a 1997 JVC television model #AV-27820 Lately we have been getting straight horizontal lines vibrating across the bottom of our screen - up to about 3-4 inches. If we hit the TV on the side it clears up for awhile.
What can be done to repair this? Thank you!! Grace

JB38 - 18th Mar 2007 21:32 If you find that one of your stereo speakers which sounds distorted is perfectly OK when changed over to the other channel, then that indicates that the internal stereo amplifier has developed a fault on one of its outputs.
Of course if this applies, you would have found that the other speaker that was previously OK, on being changed over wouldn't be! It then goes without saying that the internal amplifier requires replacing.

Diann - 18th Mar 2007 19:54 I have a JVC model AV36320. I bought it in 2003. It was working fine until the function buttons on the front of the set stopped working, including the on/off button. We had to control the television with a remote. This lasted about two weeks. Now the set does not not power on with the remote either. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the set before this. What could be wrong?

Alan - 19th Mar 2007 13:39 Brand new JVC GR-D270U minDV camcorder. Charged battery, powered unit on, loaded tape and instantly got Unit in safeguard mode. E03 eject tape and re-insert. I can do this a few times and the message will clear but I start to record and within seconds, the message reappears. What cuases this and what can I do to prevent it?
- Re[2]: JVC service or questions
JB38 - 19th Mar 2007 15:07 Have you tried it with another tape? as the E-03 error code indicates a problem with the cassette take up spindle and is nearly always caused by a faulty cassette, if however it still does it with another "known to be good" tape, and preferably ONLY a JVC / Panasonic or Fuji tape, then as its brand new I suggest you refer the problem to wherever purchased from.
- Re[3]: JVC service or questions
Alan - 19th Mar 2007 15:26 Actually, it was with Maxell tapes and I tried it with two that were new. Teh manual said JVC were preferred but not mandatory. I'll step over to the electronics store at lunch and buy a JVC brand tape. Or, if there is one that is the utmost preferred, I'll use it if you can tell me which one is least likely to cause a problem.

I have a JVC model# AV-32280. I locked myself out of a channel and WAS able to use the code, but now the only remote I have has died and I can no longer access the station. Can I disable the channel lock using just the buttons on the tv? Thanks so much for your help! Leslie

Sandy Clack - 21st Mar 2007 2:41 I have a JVC GR-D33U camcorder and when I try to record the LCD and view finder is black and states that the lens cap is on however it isn't. The sound records fine but there is no picture or the picture on the viewfinder shows colored streaks. What could be the problem? I have had this for 2 years.
thank you!

JB38 - 21st Mar 2007 7:06 Your model can potentially develop a faulty CCD image sensor, however FULL info on this can only be sent to a DIRECT e-mail address and not pasted into a reply box for technical reasons.
Click on my link (in red) and provided a return e-mail address and it will be sent by return. (or as near as)

I have a JVC camcorder GR-DVM-75 I used an adaptor instead of the camera´s battery. Probably it was a wrong adaptor. The on light flashed twice and then went off.I took the adaptor off, replaced the battery but the camera doesn´t work now
