    I have a JVC camcorder GR-DVM-75
I used an adaptor instead of the camera´s battery. Probably it was a wrong adaptor.
The on light flashed twice and then went off.I took the adaptor off, replaced the battery but the camera doesn´t work now

Any camcorder is put in jeopardy if a non-standard adapter is used to power it unless the person using it has technical knowledge of exactly what he / she is doing. The least expensive thing you have possibly done is to blow an internal fuse, however depending on how technically incorrect the adaptor was it could have caused other serious damage of an expensive nature. If the battery you reinserted is known still to have power then I am afraid whats mentioned above is very likely to apply.

My problem is similar to all others - an error message E04 which says remove and reattach battery , unit in safe gaurd mode

How do I resolve this. My mini DV camcorder is 7-8yrs old I have never had a problem with it.

If you care to provide a DIRECT e-mail address I will send you some instructions on remedial measures for this fault, as the info CANNOT be pasted into a reply box for technical reasons. (Click on my JB38 link and enter your e-mail address)

"FULL" info sent via "DIRECT e-mail which details the cause of the problem and the procedure used to obtain that "QUALIFIED" free repair on this manufacturing defect. NOTE! Anyone else that may be reading this and intending to request similar advice please observe that your camcorder model number "MUST" be given as the info does not apply to every model that has this problem, also the information is "ONLY" sent to a "DIRECT" e-mail address, this being done by clicking on my link and entering your e-mail address in the box provided.

I have JVC Model Number DR-MV5SU and the VCR side WILL NOT play on my tv. I have disconnected the thing, taken it to Best Buy, and it worked there, brought it back home and reconnected and it worked for a few days but then went back to not working again. This also happened when we moved to a new house and reconnected it. It seems to work for a few days and then quit. The display alternates between the counter and these letters "U01" (I think, it could be a letter O and a small l, as it is just a straight line). Do you have any idea what the problem is? Thanks. Heidi

I have JVC GR-DX77 camcorder and have been using it for the past 1 year without any problems. But now when I open the LCD monitor or view through viewfinder, I see many vertical lines with different colors. When I shift to PLAY mode, I could see the clippings from already recorded tape.

We are experiencing the same problem as someone who wrote this earlier. We have had no problems with this until now and really like this camcorder. Please help!!
