My HR-S9500U VCR turns off immediately after pressing the power buttom and the front display keeps flashing "Auto". I inserted and ejected a tape but the same thing happens.

I have a 32 inch AV32DF74 purchased a year and a half ago. One day recently, no picture, no volume bars. JVC service basically said "Out of warranty" , take it to service. Unless it's the tube which is covered by a two year warranty. So, I brought it for service. My $839 TV would cost $445 to repair (video module, not the tube, etc.). Please tell me if you think it is reasonable for a consumer to think this is fair that I should have to pay this. Even if it was the tube and covered under warranty, the labor would be $250. My last TV lasted for 20 years. Given the telephone response from JVC, I doubt I would ever buy a JVC product ever again. Please tell me, is this reasonable or fair? Bruce

Bought JVC compact component system-model #MX-KB30 in early January, 2005. In May, found that CD player would not open and after tricking it to open, then would not play CD or reopen to allow me to retrieve my CD. Took set to local repair facility but three weeks later was told problem was to complex for them to take care of and they advised me to ship to JVC at 1500 Lake Parkway in Lawrenceville, Ga. That was done on 7-5-05. I included the invoice from the company that tried to fix the set (outlining the problem) and a copy of my sales receipt. The box was sent via U. S. Mail. Have heard nothing to date from them in regard to repair or even if they received the set. Called natl. toll free phone number 1-800-252-5722. Was held on hold for 43 minutes yet no one ever got to me. Is this the type of response I'm to expect from your company? Can someone please respond to me and let me know when I can expect the repair to be done, and if the repair is not possible, then, furnish me with a new set. Please respond. Evelyn M. 26.07.05 Hi I was working in Singapore and bought a multi-system VHS recorder in about 1992. It is fine except that it now chews tapes! I've done the obvious things, such as cleaning the heads, but the problem remains... I'm now living in the U.K. and cannot find the spare parts that I need - which I belive is a maintenance/service set (mainly belts & a few mechanical parts). The model is HRD 92-DMS. Any ideas about who to contact re. the parts (I am not a fan of eBay)... Many thanks in advance for all feedback - cheers. Ken.
