Re: Sony DSC W5 lens problem

     Jordan Posted Aug 24, 2006

Hi, My Sony w5 recently developed a problem with the lens. Namely, when I tried to turn the camera off after using it, the lens retracting mechanism got stucked, and I got message "Please turn the camera off and then on again. But this didn't solve the problem. The lens is still stucked and the camera isn't working. Can it be repaired and what would be the cost? Thank you, Jordan.

I turned on my camero and it had pink and orange streaks across it as you view the picture, I turned it off and on and it was normal but the next time I turned it on it was the same and it has stayed that way, with no changes.

My sony cybershot dsc-w5 has the infamous turn the power off and on again problem now it has worked up before but that was more due to lax in battery stamina, but now on full batteries my camera will proudly protrude its lense to full length and when i turn it off it pretends to retract for a second but then changes its mind and sticks the lens out again. Aha fix this one Mr Sebastiann

The plastic catch on the place where the batteries fit has snaaped off and this bit looks relatively easy to replace I hope. The model is a cybershot DSC-W12

Hi. My beloved Sony DSC S70 has developped a fault with the flash which stopped working. The flash symbol keeps blinking and so does the error code 91:01. Is it fixable? Thank you.

Hi, i dont know if this post is still valid but i have a sony cybershot DSC-W30, everytime i try to put it on it says: access" then "turn the power off and on again. i got told several times that its the lens which has been displaced so its a small matter of replacing the lens. So if you do still repair the cameras please let me know. And the camera is in Greenwich,London. Thanks. Wasif
