My camcorder model sxm250u appears to recording fine but when I attempt to view the recording its completely scrambled. I tried different vcrs' and Ive tried different video tapes. Is there a setting that I may have changed or maybe one I should change?

Hi Paul ! If this message is not to late, the problem you are having is probably that you have your camcorder tape setting on "S-VHS". A standard "VHS" vcr will not play S-VHS tapes. You need to change the setting on your camcorder to "VHS" instead of "S-VHS" or SVHS-ET". Otherwise you will need a "S-VHS" vcr. Hope this helps. Mike

    Stacy,
Hope you can help with questions re AV32S585.

1- When powering up, tv makes a loud almost popping noise, have been told that it is due to voltage in tube. Is this 'normal' for this model?

2- When watching non-HD channels, I still get the bands on the top and bottom of screen making the non-hd 4:3 16:9. Unless I choose hd zoom to take up the whole screen, then I lose out on picture size for non HD. Cant the tv get regular 4:3 when watching regular channels without the zoom mode?? Thanks

    Hi Stacy,

Thanks in advance your your help. I have a JVC GR-SXM730U camcorder. I have spent the last week playing tapes and capturing them to burn to DVDs. With the last tape, I have received a E03 error code.

What does it mean, and what is the remedy. I would appreciate it if you would email me the answers.

    Thanks,
    Mark

  • JVC GR-DVL300 camcorder firewire problem

    Hi,

My JVC GR-DVL300 camcorder is not recognized anymore by my PC as it used to be. The camcorder is connected to the computer by an OHCI complient firewire (ieee1394) PCI card (VIA chipset). Is there any service code or similar to get some debug info on errors? The camera seems to be unable to communicate now.

    Thank you in advance.

    Regards,
    Tibor

I have a JVC VHS CAMCORDER Model GR-AXM4U. The LCD monitor is not working, the viewfinder is working. How much will it cost to fix it?

I bought my VCR in July 2004. Three months later, the loading problem appeared. JVC kept my VCR one month. Three days later, the same problem appeared. The store gave me a new one. And yesterday (02/13/05), again the loading error!

I have a 5 year old JVC AV28WFT1EK which now has a strong green tinge to the screen. Can I balance this out by using the service menu to increase the red output, and if so how? At the moment all I can do is adjust the blue output

    Any help gratefully received

I have a JVC AV-56WP30 Projection TV. It was working fine in the morning, the kids turned it on after school and the top left corner of the screen had a redish purple arc through it! I proceeded to check the convergence and it looks like the screen color it part of the problem. The top left and top center cross hair are off, including the lower right corner cross-hair. All the other are fine. The centre top green cross-hair is not only off but the horizontale line through the cross-hair is tilted from left to right (lower on the left side). The bottom right cross-hair tilts the opposite way. All the vertical lines seem fine.

Can you give me any ideas on what I should be checking next or whether I should call a service person. I have worked in Televisions before and have a college diploma in Audio Visual with good electronic background but am far from being an expert. I can follow electronic schematics with minimum difficulty. I will be phoning JVC tomorrow and see if I can order the complete service manual for the TV, but I won't receive it for a few weeks because of where I am situated. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Rick
