I have a JVC digital video camera..Model # GR-DVL-300U. Whenever I turn it on iit gives me the error "unit in safeguard mode" Remove and attach Battery" when i remove the battery and reattach it , I get the same error message. I tried it numerous times with no luck. What do you suggest? There isn't a JVC repair clinic anywhere near me.

Unknown - 20th May 2005 7:04 As previously noted above...give this a try.
Remove your tape from the cam. power the unit off and then remove your power source from the camcorder. Get a new JVC tape (no other brand for this test). power the cam back up and try the new JVC tape...see if it helps. This is a reset process for the cam that may work for you. Also, FYI: do not store your tapes in the unit when not in use...remove battery when storing cam away. Try to use JVC tapes only as some other brands tend to be problematic by starting bogus errors and messages. at least keep the reset procedure in mind if you are using another brand and see a problem. Try reset and new JVC tape first before assuming the cam has a problem.

dave Thomas - 20th May 2005 3:28 I am one of many who suffer from the "safeguard mode" problem. My machine is brand new (jvc 700x). It says to eject tape, and I do with no change. Is there a soft restart thing or anything? Help! Thnks Dave

I have a JVC television, model AV-27S33. It is hooked directly to cable, no cable box. Suddenly, I am unable to tune ANY channel below 48, but any 48 or above come in crystal clear. There is no hint of a picture on the lower channels, even if I turn off the blanking. My VCR still receives all channels perfectly normally. This is not a matter of not having the channels programmed into memory, I've gone through the channel setup numerous times, it just won't pick up the lower stations.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Brandon - 25th Sep 2005 8:24 I am having the exact same problem. Earlier today I was watching channel 25 and it was getting snowier and snowier. Finally the signal gave out. I started flipping channels and I could not get anything under channel 48. Also, I intermittently could not get channel 98 & 99. I tried do a channel scan over and over again. I switch to air, I switched to cable. I unplug the TV for a couple hours. I changed the cables. No change. But my other 2 tvs and my VCR on this tv all receive all channels. I can't even watch my vcr on channel 3 of the TV (although I can watch it through the A/V connection).

Suddenly I get a "CHECK TAPES ERACE TAB " Error message and of course the erase tab is in the correct position and I get the same message with any of three or four tapes I have tried.
Once you get that message you can do nothing . Still plays beack fine.

I, have a JVC Camcorder Model #GR-SXM930U Serial # 076J0897. I, was filming a graduation ceremony, and did not know the camera was not recording. When I came home to put the film on a DVD the screen went blank and a code of E03 came up and read unit in sasfe guard mode. Also said to remove battery and retach. I, did this and still have nothing. I have replaced the cassette and the camera only tapes a couple of seconds and has this same code on it. Please send me some help or tell me where to send it and an approximate repair price.

Michael Earl - 23rd May 2005 5:24 Stacy,
I own a KD-G700, audio CD/MP3 player. I have owned and used it in my car for about three months. Last night I was playing a CD, loud (something I've done everyday since purchasing it with no previous problems), and it just shut off. Cannot get it to turn on at all. Tried reseting it, nothing. Replaced the car fuses, nothing. PLS HLP!

I have a serious problem when trying to load a tape in the JVC GY-5000 tape mechanism. When inserting a new tape the camera ejects and gives a " record inhibit" message. I have reset the camera in the hidden menu- Execute error- but the problem persists. The loading mechanism has been replaced before and gave me about 5hrs of operation before the problem returned. Please advise
Emile
