I need software driver for gr dvl-300 camcorder can you help?
- GR-DVL300
Helpful - 18th Jun 2005 7:55 I do not believe your model has a driver as it does not have USB capability nor a memory card slot for photos. If you are trying to transfer video-- then you need to purchase a video program like Pinnacle Studio 9 (or similar) and utilize your DV/Fire Wire port for that task.

Chris Cherin - 1st Jun 2005 22:14 I've had my JVC digital video gamera for about six months now. The model number is GR-D72U. It has been working great and slowly I began to see signs of choppy audio, and when sending the video on the computer I saw signs of random seconds of screwed-up visuals. Two weeks ago I went to go playback the video I just shot and there was no audio at all. I purchased two Mini Dv cleaners and both didn't work. What should I do to fix this problem? It has been working great up to this point. I called JVC and they gave me numbers for local places that can repair it. Each place wanted $50 down and they told me that the labor costs will be between 120-150 dollars. That's practically half the price of the camcorder!!! Is there any way you can help me? What do you think the problem is? There is no sound whatsoever as of now while playing back the tape.
- GR-D72US no audio
Helpful - 18th Jun 2005 8:00 Double check the tapes you are using. IF you are not using JVC or even Panasonic it is "Possible" the tape could be the issue. To determine for sure, reset the camcorder via the info below and try a new JVC or Panasonic tape. If this does not work after step by step resetting, then it would have to be evaluated.
RESET:
* Remove tape from camcorder and close up the cabinet.
* Power down the camcorder and remove the power source (battery or DC cord)
* Replace the power source and power camcorder back up.
* Use a NEW JVC or Panasonic tape.
Once you have reset the camcorder, see if the new tape will function normally. IF it does...the prior tape or tapes may have been faulty.
FYI: When storing the camcorder away for extended periods of time, remove the tape and the battery and store them seperately in the camcorder bag.

i recently purchased a jvc grd-90 us in hopes of videotaping my newborn son. I hoped that a reputable manufacturer would not give me problems but unfortunatley the camera has suddenly begun to give me a lens cap error message and will not record. If the ccd circuit is faulty, why wont JVC recall the products and replace/fix the circuit to keep its customers happy? What can we as customers do?
- GR-D90
Helpful - 18th Jun 2005 7:30 The GR-D90 I believe is a 2003 model. IF you just purchased it within a year then you still have parts coverage. If under 90 days, you have labor coverage as well. If you did not just purchase it and have had use of it for almost 2 years, then you need to contact JVC regarding your concerns and see what they can do for you. It never hurts to ask.

Matthew Martin - 10th Aug 2005 14:23 I have had the same problem with that same model camera. JVC is unwilling to stand behind their products so I am no longer going to purchase anything manufactured by JVC. Simple as that.

Dale Huber - 26th Feb 2006 22:07 I also purchased a GR-D90 and used it in near sterile conditions while doing Super 8/8mm film to video transfer of about 9 hours of family film. Then used it another maybe... 6 hours on a vacation to the midwest and its shot! Recording video is like black scrambled eggs for a picture. Sound and playback are ok. I did purchase back in 2004 but it sat on the shelf most of that time! Kind of ticks me off to have such poor results with a name brand like JVC and then to read about so many others who have had the same problem. Sounds like JVC cut to many corners this time! I'm going to see what Costco can do for me, otherwise I will be buying a Panasonic next time like I should have this time! DCH Chowchilla, CA

Hi Paul - It's Christmas Eve and I have discovered the same problem with my JVC camcorder as you had - an error that it's in safeguard mode and that I need to remove and reattach battery... What did you end up doing?? I was hoping to continue the family tradition and use the camcorder in the morning, but that might not be happening... Thanks and happy holidays!

OLLIE - 4th Jun 2005 5:35 WHAT DO I NEED TO DOWN LOAD MY VIDEO'S TO MY PC FROM MY CAMERA. I HAVE A JVC GR-D90U. THANKS
- DV video download
Helpful - 18th Jun 2005 7:12 You need a video program like Pinnacle Studio 9 which comes with the fire wire cable, hardware and software needed to complete the video transfer task. JVC camcorders do not come with these programs for video transfer. Some come with USB Drivers for your photo download from memory card. You will be utilizing your fire wire port for video transfer.

Dear Stacey, I purchased dr mh30s dvd recorder in jan of 2005. I am trying to tape home vhs movies to disks. I have no trouble putting the material on the hard drive, but when i try to high speed dub to a disk the machine keeps freezing about one minute gefore completion. The only way to shut the machine down is to pull the plug. The same thing happens in the Just dub mode.It works in the manual mode but this takes 2 hours to do. The reason i purchased the machine was to high speed these family movie copies to send to family members. I have called the service dept. more times than i can recall. (maybe 30 or so) Every technician tells me to do something different, but nothing works. I am told that it can not be repaired locally and that i must send it to n jersey. My local jvc repair center said it is very complicated and a very expensive repair. I am just out of thr warranty for labor. I finally called a man who is supposedly a ceo. He said they would pay for shipping and repair and that he would get back to me in a couple of hours. Never happened. Any ideas? Thanks for any help you can offer. Have other people complained about this type of problem? Sincerely, Delores Childs

Helpful - 18th Jun 2005 6:44 The link to all the factory service centers is below. Find the one closest to you and pack your product up properly for shipment. Include your proof of purchase copy, your full name, physical address and contact phone #s. Write the problem/symptoms down that you have been experiencing. Ship the unit to JVC with a note to contact you and/or fix and return the product. I can assure you that if you are not too far out of warranty, they will fix your product up and return it a long as it is in good condition. Again, pack it properly for size and weight. IF you have your original box and packing -- use it! IF you do not, get a box large enough to allow you to wrap the unit in bubble wrap 2-3 inches thick (on all sides and corners). You should be able to put styrofoam peanuts on the bottom/top and all sides of the unit after it is wrapped. Include the info outlined above and get it to service. The longer you wait, the more difficult it can become to get full warranty consideration. Just send it in ASAP and let the JVC staff take it from there. I highly recommend shipping the product UPS for insurance and tracking purposes to verify receipt on the other end. DO NOT WAIT--GET IT TO SERVICE IF YOU ARE HAVING A PROBLEM ESPECIALLY AS CLOSE TO YOUR WARRANTY AS YOU SAY YOU ARE! :)
Service Center Link is pasted below OR go to JVC.com > service and support > locate a factory service center. I believe the Woburn Mass, Houston and Aurora, Ill centers are pretty fast in turn-a-round time.

It is only 4 years old and this is very disappointing. It was working fine, until all of a sudden it would not record. Please help!! Thanks

Helpful - 18th Jun 2005 6:47 Will the camcorder eject the tape? If not, was the tape stored inside the camcorder for a long period of time prior to the error/symptom?

Ned - 6th Jun 2005 2:09 Hi, i bought a 45min record time JVC VHSc blank tape to be used on my video cam. After using it fully twice, the maximum record time I got was only 30mins =( does the set-up fro the video cam or the model of the cam has something to do with the tape? And are there any JVC VHSC/SVHSC blank tapes which I can record at least 60mins of video?
Thanks a lot.
- V HS record time
Helpful - 18th Jun 2005 6:59 I believe there may be a menu setting which asks which length of tape you are trying to use. IF it is set on 30 minutes...it may only record 30 minutes on a 45 min tape. Check your menu setting and your operational manual. AS for longer tapes --- Go to JVC.com and utilize the "accessory store" to research tape types and lengths. If there is one available for 60 minutes--it should be listed

JVC GR-EZ1U Compact VHS Camcorder There is no power to the camera from either the battery or from AC. I am looking for suggested repairs? What part do I need to order? Thanks in advance

I'm having the same problem with my JVC-d70 camcorder. If any of us could give us some suggest that would be appreciated.
- No power
Helpful - 18th Jun 2005 7:03 To be honest..you are asking an impossible question. No one will be able to tell you exactly what to do on a no power issue without the product in front of them and knowledge to troubleshoot such matters. You need to take the camcorder to someone familiar with that model and have access to the service manual or your only other option may be to see if a service manual is still available to purchase yourself if you want to attempt repair or troubleshoot. Odds are you are not going to find your answer on a internet thread. IF the camcorder is more than 6-7 years old...service manuals may be hard to find.
- Re: No power
Kal - 6th Jun 2007 1:28 I have the same problem with my JVC GRD90. Worked fine and then after sitting off overnight just decide not to power up - no record, no play, no charging light, no nothing !! The service guys recommended replacement rather than fixing as more cost-effective. This was NOT a good investment.
