- Battery Charge Light
Helpful - 18th Jun 2005 7:45 Are you trying to charge a JVC battery or an aftermarket battery? Will the product operate via the DC cord? If the battery light flashes really fast and not in a slow, smooth pace..it could be the camcorder. BUT..if the battery is aftermarket or over 1 to 1 1/2 years old, the battery could be the problem and not allowing a charge to take place from the camcorder. If you have a second battery to try, then do that. If you do not, you may see of a local shop can test your batteries for you or see if a JVC Factory Center will do a preliminary test on your charge function utilizig your accessories. See if you can send them the camcorder/batteries and AC adapter/charger to verify the source of the problem. IF the battery is bad, you can get a new one. If the camcorder is the problem, they can check the charging fuses. If the AC Adapter/Charger is bad, then replace that.

I have a JVC GR-DVL510u and am receiving an error "EO3" and being instructed that "Unit in safeguard mode" and "remove reattach battery", which isn't working.
Do you have any solutions?
Thanks.
- GR-DVL510 SafeGuard Mode
Helpful - 18th Jun 2005 7:50 First I need to know if the camcorder will allow the tape to load or eject? If it does, what brand tapes are you using? You may wish to try a reset procedure I will outline below and see if it works.
RESET:
* Remove tape from unit
* Close up camcorder and power it down.
* Remove power source (battery or DC cord)
* Replace power source and power up camcorder.
* Get a NEW JVC or even Panasonic tape. See if tape will load and function.
IF the reset above has been done step by step with the recommended tapes-- then the product may need service. Try this first and go from there.

I didn't write the original post, but am having the same problem with my gr-DVL-510 except I cannot follow your reset instruction because the tape in the camcorder will not eject. I do not know the make of the tape, but I do know I have had the tape in and out of the camera several times without problem over the past couple months.

Terry McGlothlin - 30th May 2005 5:50 I have an old RX-505V stereo receiver that I'm afraid I blew out, but want to see if anything can be done.
I was using it to identify recently installed in-wall speaker wires, and even though I knew better, was just running 1 speaker at a time. No problem until I got to the furthest room from where I was, and I turned up the vol so I could hear. Loud pop, visible flash & some smoke...
I opened the case and found the 5A fuse by the power supply was blown. I replaced the fuse several times, but each time it would blow when I plugged the unit in. Finally one stayed intact, but all I get when I turn it on is the standby light (no display).
Can anything be done, and if so where in Houston can I take it?
Thank you, Terry McGlothlin

Traci Lersch - 30th May 2005 12:18 My JVC Modle No. is AV27820. I have multiple horizontal lines across the bottom of my TV that come and go. They blink on and off and they are thin and only appear on the bottom of the screen.
Also, occassionally there is no picture at all - just one solid horizontal line across the center of the tv. Just now in moving the tv out to get the model number, the picture came back on. I thought this would suggest a connection problem; however, I checked the cable connection and it was secure.
Thank you,
Traci Lersch

Your JVC products are useless. Why not fix defective products instead of lie to customers. I would never buy another JVC product and I'm sure this will catch on. I'd start looking for a new job.
- Loading error Dr-MV1s
Springer - 31st May 2005 19:07 Recently, I purchased a DR-MV1S.
Boy was that a mistake, or so it seems. After about 20 minutes of recording a movie onto a DVD-Ram, I get a loading error. Now, I can't get my disc out. Was told to send this defective unit to a service center in Atlanta, GA, at my expense, of course. Not sure why I have to pay for what is clearly, given the amount of discussion on this very error all over the internet, a "known-to-JVC" problem. Anyways, my question is what can I do do get my disc out of the DVD before sending it in for service. Oh... surely I won't have to pay for return shipping, will I???
