I have JVC GR-270E and trying to connect it with PC using USB cable, but there is no success.
I believe that camera should be recognized when USB cable is pluged in, but that is not the case.
I've tried to install drivers first, and then connect the hardware, nothing happened.
I'm useing XP OS! Could someone help me with the issue.

    Thanks

    Hi,
I have a 2 year old JVC AV-56WP30. It has always had a "flicker" problem, but it seems that lots of RPTV's have that problem. Now there is a very strong green push (not a convergence problem). I have lots of electronics repair experience and don't want to shell out $500+ to have someone come repair it, if it's a common problem and you can advice me on parts to get and replace. I believe it is related to the blue gun.
    Thanks,
    Mike Rohr

Howdy! I recently came across a JVC VCR # HR-DX20EA (1992 model modified to Australian standard [AS 1417.1] which has since changed) and the simple problem it has is "channel cancel". Once you select a channel to skip, on the remote you press CANCEL and the : comes on, however, with same function, : won't disappear; ie; channel cannot be recovered/stored, and other chans you might want to store cannot be.
The question is where can i get a service manual from? (besides local places)
All I want to do is correct this little problem, as the machine isn't mine, otherwise it's one of many great JVC products of that era.
Any sensible suggestions on the above would be greatly appreciated. thanku :o)

    DEAR STACY

MY ALMOST FATHER-IN-LAW GOT US A JVC GR-DVL805 FOR X-MAS, USED, WITH NO BATTERY CHARGER OR OWNER'S MANUAL. WE ARE EXPECTING A BABY IN LATE APRIL AND MUST HAVE A RELIABLE CAMERA BEFORE THIS TIME. THE ERROR CODE I AM GETTING IS "EO6, SAFETY GUARD ON, DETTACH AND REATTACH THE BATTERY". AFTER TRYING SEVERAL TIMES WITH THE OLD AND NEW BATTERIES I PURCHASED, THE ERROR CODE REMAINS. UPON INVESTIGATING THIS PROBLEM I HAVE DISCOVERED THIS PROBLEM TO BE PREVALENT AMONG LOTS OF JVC CAMCORDERS. WHAT'S A GIRL TO DO??? HELP WITH ANY/ALL ADVICE IS GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANKS, DEBBIE M.

    Tom Pajewski,

Thanks for the information on replacing JVC's C926 capacitor. It resolved the power problem I was having with my 6 year old, 32 inch JVC TV, of the same series. The set was expensive and looked like it was going to have the shortest life span of any TV I've ever owned. Your tip was appreciated by a lot of folks.

    Stacey Sample,

After reading through the postings on the power problem with the 27/32/36 inch JVC sets in the 985 series it sure looks like there is certainly enough interest here to indicate a repetitive problem with the sets, not to mention the number of owners who were not lucky enough to find Tom's posting and simply replaced the TV.

As things stand right now, I've won't buy another JVC set.

    Thanks,

    George B

    Hi Stacy,

I have a question. I purchased a JVC RX-DV31SL receiver and a XL-FZ158BK CD changer over the weekend. I installed both and connected them using the supplied COMPULINK cable. However I cannot get the CD changer to operate using the receiver remote. I have the changer composite output connected to the reciver CDR composite input. I also changed the source name on the receiver from TAPE to CDR.

A local service technician has told me that there are actually two types of these cables (single and dual contact) and that I may be using the wrong one.

I found a web site callled www.partstore.com and discovered that there is a replacement for the COMPULINK cables. However, I cannot verify the cable I have because there is no JVC pn# on it. So I don't know which cable I have. This is what I see at the web site:

    COMPULINK CONTROL CABLE

    JVC 17-1180 $ 4.40
    3.5MM MONO-MONO

    JVC 255-155 $ 4.46
    3.5MM MONO -MONO
Replacement for JVC Part Number: 171180

    JVC 255-160 $ 4.46
    3.5MM MONO -MONO
Replacement for JVC Part Number: 171180

Any help you can give me would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    -Rick Ford
