Bob, I have the same model that you do and I also have the same problem. I have used this camcorder on my honeymoon and one christmas. Now when I open the viewfinder, no picture is displayed, also it will record but only sound, no video. Have you had any success diagnosing this issue and getting it repaired? Please let me know,
Kind regards.
Mike

Claude Perkins - 5th Feb 2006 5:27 I own a JVC model HR-XVC26U vcr/dvd player that is barely over 1 year old and it will read the dvd, start playing and quit and start the reading process all over again. Warranty is shot now and have found out this is a common problem. Is there any class action lawsuit against the company because my efforts to gain satisfaction with JVC are nil!!!

Richie - 6th Feb 2006 15:22 A message has appeared on my tv screen every time I turn it on.
It is on a JVC television. Model: AV-28WFT1EK
It reads: MEMORY PACK SERVICE TV (PR) <<< MEMORY PACK TV: EXIT OK: START There is an up and down arrow at the end of the message which changes the way the arrows point if you press the ok button while the arrows are pointing at the TV (PR) it displays the following message in Red:
Memory Pack ID Error
If you point the arrows to Memory Pack and click 'ok' it start cycling through what appear to be memory locations and they are displayed in Red e.g.
180H:C5H = 0180H:FFH NG
if you press TV it exits and works normally
Can anyone explain?
