I have a GR-DV500. When I turn on to A mode to record, it says that the lens cap needs to be removed and it shows a black screen. When I recored during this time, it still recored the audio but the video was black. In play mode everything works correctly.

I have problems getting access to my GR DVL40E DV camcorder via a firewire connection. When ever I try to connect to my PC nothing happens, say the PC can not see the DV. I have tried several different tools (Windows Movie Maker, Power Director, Pinnacle studio 8.9) to connect to the DV, but all with the same negative result. I have also tried a other DV (Panasonic) on the same PC using the same cables, and this worked just fine. Thank you in advance. Kim Wittchen

My JVC gr DVL-805u is reporting an error 04 and goes into safeguard mode all the time now. I have had one successful attempt to use the camera plugged in to a wall outlet, however using the battery with the camera seems to be a lost cause. I have ordered a new battery for the camera as I thought this was a power issue with a 5 or 6 year old battery. Thanks for your help. Model: GR DVL-805u Serial #: 11531827 I found your post on pechorin.com Thanks

Hello, I've had JVC-DVL150E Camcorder since 1998. For the last year I've been unable to use it as it keeps coming up with an error message which reads - "E06 REMOVE AND REATTACH BATTERY - UNIT IN SAFEGUARD MODE" This occurs when a tape is in the unit and when I attempt to recover the tape it's usually been chewed a little. The warranty has expired and i'm wanting to avois costly repairs. Regards, Chris

I am in need of assistance wiht a JVC GY-DV500U. Service manual is no longer available from JVC. The unit was dead. I replace the SMPS boards, now the lens assembly operates, but I have no display and also the tape won't load. Can you help? Thank You, Craig

We have a JVC TV that has just started acting up. Intermittently it will go to a blue screen for a few seconds and then back to the picture. It is the TV because other TV do not lose the picture. The duration of the 'blue' screen seems to be getting longer. I would appreciate any help. Jan Svofield

Hi, I have a GR-DVL520U, recently the image on the viewfinder and lcd started flickering, mainly when in high light conditions. The images recorded would flicker as well. I brougth the unit to a repair shop. The estimate is 400 $ to replace the digital board and align unit. Does that seem right? Do you think there is an alternate solution? I heard that microfuse failure was a common issue with these models, do you think this could be the problem here? Thanks a lot in advance Djo

    MEMORY PACK SERVICE error

     Richie Posted Feb 07, 2006

A message has appeared on my tv screen every time I turn it on. It is on a JVC television. Model: AV-28WFT1EK It reads: MEMORY PACK SERVICE TV (PR) <<< MEMORY PACK TV: EXIT OK: START There is an up and down arrow at the end of the message which changes the way the arrows point if you press the ok button while the arrows are pointing at the TV (PR) it displays the following message in Red: Memory Pack ID Error If you point the arrows to Memory Pack and click 'ok' it start cycling through what appear to be memory locations and they are displayed in Red e.g. 180H:C5H = 0180H:FFH NG if you press TV it exits and works normally Can anyone explain?
