Assistance with JVC product

If anyone has a question regarding a problem with thier JVC product (error codes, safeguard mode etc) write me for troubleshooting assistance. Please provide your model # if available and note this site so I can assist you better.

  My JVC Mini-DV camera has gone wacky. I am trying to avoid paying $200 to have it fixed if you can help.
  
  When i have the camera in play back mode and i press play to start watching the video i have recorded, the menu function goes wacky. It is almost as if a ghost is working the menu function. then when i try and control it, the camera does not respond to me, it just keeps flashing various screens that go along with the menu function.

    From your symptoms....it is possible your operation button assy MAY be malfunctioning. The operation buttons in some cases are tied together in one assy. That could explain why your not getting any response from the control buttons. This symptom will need to be evaluated by a JVC technician or JVC authorized "DV" technician. This is not an issue you can correct yourself. Go to JVC.com to locate the nearest JVC Factory center. It is around $50 for evaluation at their centers. Their may also be shipping costs if you are not close enough to a center to drop it off.

  I am based at Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. I am using JVC Camcoder. Now i dont have the model No. But it is showing Put Video head cleaning casette. I tried in Hyderabad. But i dint get the video cleaning casette. Where i can get?

    what brand DV tapes are you using? If you are using TDK or Maxell try this. Remove the tape and close the camera up. Power it down. Remove the battery or electrical power cord. then replace the power battery or cord and turn the camera back on. Once you do that, have a new JVC or Panasonic tape available to try a recording and playback. See if cleaning error goes away.

  I have a JVC Digital Video Camera.
  Model No. GR-D70U
  Serial No. 068V4029
  My problem is the door has gotten stuck or something. I used it one morning and then went to reuse it that evening. When I opened the outside door, the inside cassette holder came out but the door will not lift on it. Just ever now and then it will. It did open once and I put a cassette in and it still records and plays back. The memory card still works. It just seem to be the medal door will not lift up. One side of it seem to be ok but it the side with the red sticker that says press here that wont let lose. Any idea about how it could be fix or will it have to be done by a professional.     IF the tape basket will not release the tape normally, it will probably need to be seen by a JVC tech or JVC authorized DV tech. IF you purchased extended warranty thru your dealer, contact them first. If you did not, contact JVC via your operational manuals service info page which should be toward the back of the manual.

      I have the exact same problem and now the thing won't even go down. Problem with me is there is no jvc dealership close to me and jvc said it would cost 50 dollars plus what is wrong with it to have it sent there and fixed. It is only 6 months old and I am still making payments on it via best buy credit.

  hello i was just wondering i have a JVC GR-30U and when i turn it on it says unit in safeguard mode remove and retach battery can u please help me to fix this problem!!!

    Safeguard Mode is a communication that the camcorder is having a problem and is not related to 1 issue alone. To attempt to remedy this you need to be more specific what the camcorder will or won't do in regards to functions. Will it load a tape? Is there a tape stuck? Do you have any functions at all? What brand tapes are you using (some brands tend to cause problems more than others).

  I bought a JVC 700X digital zoom camcorder less than 2 years ago. Everything was fine, then one day I got the error code E-03. I bought a new battery, thinking that was the problem. WRONG!!!! It still gives me the same error code. What does it mean, and how can I fix it. Please don't tell me to take it to a dealer!!!!!! Too Expensive for repairs. Thanks

    Can you please offer the model # of your product. Is it a VHS or DV model camcorder? Please be specific as to any messages you are getting. It can make a difference in giving you suggestions or options. 700X does not offer me much information. Thanks.

      JVC GR-DVL310. The message I get is E03, In safeguard mode, remove battery and replace. does not work. Is there anything else that can be checked? Thanks

  When i attach my battery to the camcorder it says on the screen " E04 Unit in safeguard mode and to remove and reattach battery. The model # for the camcorder is GR-SX851U. I need to know how to get my camcorder off of the safeguard mode. Thanks alot.

    I can load and eject the tape. I also found if I open the write protect window on the top of the tape, it might be OK for recording and playing, but the kit is very noisy. After a while it doesn't work again due to the same problem.

  I have a gr-DVF21u. It is displaying EO4. We have remove the battery, but still displays EO4, when we return it. If we have to take to a JVC service center. Please can you localate one close it Port Huron, Michigan or zip code 48614.
