We have a JVC HD-56G887 tv. It shut off while my son was using it to play his x-box. We've had no problems with up to this point and it's about 3 1/2 years old. When we turn it on the fan starts running for about 20-30 seconds then shuts down we never get a picture in that amount of time.

AV56WP74 after replacing both stk ic`s went into service menu and the remote i was using was a generic one and it would not save the values in service menu. Do i need the jvc remote?

I bought this unit, DR- mv1s in 05.. and the error light stayed on so I called jvc in ca, and the said to send unit to them.. it cost me $ 21.00 to send to them and I wrote a note stating what was srong.. the drop deck in vcr will not load and the error light comes on.. the sent it back a week later and the error light was fixed but not the drop deck .. I wrote jvc again and called them also and I and gave them the tech's info of who fixed it and never got a reply back and they were rude when i called them.. I paid alot of money for this unit, and the dvd still works great, I would like to get the vcr fixed .. I have read alot of reviews on this unit and alot of people have had the same problem and why doesnt jvc do a recall on these and fix them.. they just ignore..I didnt read the reviews then, but I do now before i buy any product from jvc if i ever buy the items again.. thanks Ray

When I put on the tv, the figure not open and on screen I see a green rectangle which moves over-down. After many atemppts with the main switch I can open the figure, after that the tv works ok. I have a JVC AV-3591S and yesterday while watching tv the screen went blank..I could still hear the show,but I had no picture..also i could see the menu,but no picture..I have a DVD player hooked up to input 1,and my satellite hooked up to input 2.. I got rather disgusted with it,and noticed the picture would come back if I smacked the side of the tv while the DVD player was on,but if i tried the same thing with the DVD player off i got no picture.. I'm good at fixing electronics,but I don't want to tear into my tv without knowing what I'm looking for.. If you have any advice or tips..or even common problems with this tv..I'd appreciate your help..Thanks..
