Hi Ms. Stacy Sample, JVC Service & Engineering, Houston, Texas: 2 years ago my JVC TV AV-36985 would not turn on. A service repair man replaced the power supply and a few small electronic pieces. Last year, the TV displayed a scrambled picture, and this same service repair man replaced some electronic pieces. He said he heard a little scratch or bump type sound emitting from the TV's speakers, but he could not identify the source of the sound. As soon as I turned on the TV, I heard the sound and then disabled/turned off the speakers', because I route the audio to my stereo anyway. That was no longer a problem. However, when I viewed the Bell ExpressVu interactive program guide, the left and right viewing window sides would move in and out, concave like, when I selected the next channel listing, and as well when I scrolled a page up or down. This was acceptable, then after 5 months, the TV would not turn on, again. Before I have a service repair man look at the TV, I'm debating whether to have it fixed or not. As this trouble could be an ongoing occurrence, and the TV weighs 150 lbs, too much hassle to bring it somewhere for service and return it home. Can you help me out? Thank you and have a good day, Dan Dan Loney 5 - 521 Carleton ST Cornwall ON K6H 4Y2 CANADA

hello Stacey, my name is Curt and i have a question regarding a 36' JVC television model #AV-36F702 and have been told the flyback transformer has gone bad part#QQH0110-002 was QQH0110-001. i have since ordered a new one but was wondering how you actually take that part off of the circuit board. I know how to solder it back on but dont know how to take it off since its already soldered on. any information will be very useful. Im in the marines and live in Hawaii and anything over here is so overpriced it isnt worth it for me to have someone repair it. plus i dont make that much money!! anyhoo, thank you for your time and patience. Respectfully, Curt.

We purchased a D-Series 32" TV from Sears less than 10 years ago. Today, January 2006 the TV started smoking while we were watching it. We have unplugged the TV. Is this a new or re-curring issue? I look forward to your advice.

Hi Stacy. I have a JVC Video Csamera, model GR-D33AG. I have had it for 2 years and it has recently started having the same problems as described by Zeeshan Arif on the 13th of December, 2006. When I tried to film anything, all I could see in both the LCD display and the viewfinder display were horizontal black and white flickering lines. I had started recording a clear picture of my daughter, when all of a sudden, the screen flickered briefly and these lines appeared. I no longer had any picture at all and since then, the only thing showing in both displays are the lines. The subject was no longer able to be recorded on tape, but the lines were recorded when playback was viewed. Also seen in the LCD display were some different symbols. According to the troubleshooting manual, they appeared to be low-contrast warning symbols (Referred to in page 32 of the English Manual). Any ideas? Thank you. Nathan Chilver.

Av27820 jvc tv memory chip replaced afterwhich screen started dancing. Tv suddenly turned off by itself. My husband is a hobbyist and tried repairing it...but he's now at a lost. Tv function restored minus the audio. Clear picture but no sound. He's now in the process of retracing the sound...perhaps you have some documents that could help..
