Simon Choi - 17th Jul 2006 14:52 Hi! I bought a JVC DV camera model GR-DVX40 several years ago and have a problem until now, that is I can't capture the movie from the DV camera to my computer. I installed the enclosed software, failed. I tried other software e.g. Ulead DVD, failed again, I'm very disappointed that why the movie that I'd taken can not be captured and I can't find any help from JVC. Would you please teach me how to capture the movie from the DV? My computer is P4 1.4G, 256MRam, installed IEEE1394A PCI Host controller Card. Much appreciate to receive from you ASAP. Best regards! Simon

Hello Stacy, My name is Wil from FAVE Productions in Toronto, Canada. We have two GR-HD1's and a JY-HD10u that we use for production. We also have a GR-DV500u that is used for scene monitoring, location scouting and as a MiniDV NTSC deck. The GR-HD1's are two years old. All cams were purchased new except for the JY-HD10u. My question concerns one of the GR-HD1's. When shooting outside in the summer (haven't shot in winter outside here yet) the camera goes into safeguard mode, telling me to eject and re-inset the tape. This I do as well as letting the camera cool down for a few minutes. Then we can shoot again. This cam has also done this a couple of times in the studio. The other GR-HD1 and the JY-HD10u do not do this. Is this a problem that can be rectified by service/repair or replacement of a part? I'm not an expert but it seems to be a fault of some type of heat sensing circuit. The 3 HD cams all get quite hot during operation. If you could give me any info Stacy, I'd appreciate it. And any chance you might know roughly how much this repair would cost? Thanking you in advance for your help. wil
PS: Anyone else with info please email me at - fave01 at gmail.com - as well as posting here, please. Thanks
