Tracy H. - 3rd Nov 2004 20:53 I have a JVC GR-DVF31U camcorder. It has a Firewire port. I cannot get any software to recognize it for Video capture directly from the firewire port. Is it possible with this camcorder? If it is what software do I need. I have borrowed and tested other camcorders and the computer recognizes the cameras automatically. Please help...

My jvc camcorder that is four years old,and has been used less than fifteen times, suddenly only turns on for about .5 to 2 seconds (for any function, battery fully charged). It suddenly turned itself off in the middle of a filming, and has not ran since. The thumb switch always seemed like a possible weak link, has it broken down?

I have a GR-DVL310U. It is asking for video head cleaner occasionally, But the main problem is on "Automatic" setting it runs for a few seconds and shuts off. Sometimes it will run for longer nut a minute max. Works fine in Manual mode or playback. Tried JVC head cleaner, didn't help. Quality of recording still good in standard mode. Camera has also went into safeguard mode a few times, but not regularly? Any help would be great.

I have a JVC MX-G500, and the bass doesnt work. Ive found that the bottom 2 fuses on the 4 fuse panel are blown. From what i can tell they are 4amp fuses, however I cant find any of the same size. Would you happen to have a part number or specs so to make it easier to locate? Thanks.

my JVC GR-DVM70U Dig MiniDV camcorder has been great..2 years old, bought new...yesterday, the "ON/OFF" mode dial and center just fell off...2 small brass wires are broken it was in my camera case...no abuse...the local shop said send it to JVC and fix it..about $250 !!! I bought a newer model last night for half what I paid for this one! I have a long duration ($80) battery and special wideangle lens so I hate to trash it, but also hate to spend that much with new ones for just a little more. Please advise Thanks Joe in Indiana USA

Kevin Krotzer - 4th Nov 2004 12:21 I have had a JVC AV2049S since 1990. You would think that a television wouldn't last that long, but this one has, until recently.
I think it is nothing more than a degaussing issue, but the television shows a color target type picture (blue, yellow, red, then blue again. I made a crude degaussing coil out of television cable and the picture did fluctuate a bit, but didn't fix or make the problem worse.
Since I never really had this problem before (maybe because there is a degaussing system on modern sets?), I didn't know if there was something internally wrong with it.
I have a degaussing coil on the way (I live overseas), but I question whether this is truly the problem or not.
Thank you.

JVC AV-27530 TV
Hello, This TV was purchased 3-4 months ago. It has one annoying quirk. When the power off button is pushed on the remote the TV goes into a standby mode instead of powering off. Using a universal remote set to the correct JVC codes is used the TV displays the same behaviour. The only way to power off the TV is to push the power button on the case itself. This TV is being used by an elderly person who is a semi-invalid so for her to have to get up and push the power button is quite a problem. Is there a setting that can be changed on the TV that can correct this or will it have to be serviced by a technician? Thnak you for your time.

Joe Burke - 4th Nov 2004 22:57 I have a JVC AV-32980. It will not turn on. Is there a fuse that would likely go out after a power surge at the circuit it is plugged in to?

This morning we turned on and had a flicker of a picture, and reduced its self to a thin horizontal line across the middle. You can see th color in the line. The picture finally came on this morning after it was on for 20 minutes or so. Now we have the same line.We have had this set since new. Is it worn out? what do you think? JVC are not cheap and am not looking forward to buying one. Thanks in advance for any help.I usually have cable to vcr to tv. Susie Flower - 5th Nov 2004 3:34 We have a JVC TV about a 36" screen (I think). I do not know the model number at the moment, but today the picture started to go out and we are left with a black screen. The sound works, but no picture. If I turn it off for about 5-10 minutes it will come back on, but only for about 10 minutes until it goes to black again. Help.
