okay,,, I have a JVC KD SX770 stereo in my Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo.... in October last year, the battery died & since I was laidup w/injury, it just sat until I got mobile & installed a new battery 3 months ago... From the day of battery installation until about 6 weeks ago, the stereo didn't work at all, then all of a sudden one day on the way to work it just came on out of the blue. The volume control dial is super touchy & doesn't work to adjust volume or to change the clock, I have to use the remote for those issues. I have tried to play cd's but every time I insert one, it's silent for a few moments, then "please eject cd" comes on the screen & the radio station plays again. I have tried running a cd cleaning disc thru it, but get the same result. Going thru the owners manual for the stereo, I have removed the face plate & cleaned the contact points, and even hit the reset button, but neither of them seem to have corrected any of the issues. Any suggestions you have as to correct this would help since I am pretty well able to follow directions for almost anything! Thanks a ton, Deb

I have an RX-655VBK receiver and used to have an XV-N44SL DVD player until it was recently stolen along with the A/V compulink cable it was connected with. I have since replaced the stolen DVD player with a DR-M10 DVD recorder, but unfortunately I am not getting the same performance from the compulink connection with my receiver. The receiver will power up and switch to DVD when I turn on the DVD recorder and turning on the receiver will DVD mode will likewise turn on the DVD recorder, but none of the receiver's remote control functions (play, stop, menu, etc.) will work on the DVD recorder with the receiver set to DVD. I first set up the recording using an RCA cable with a female RCA to male 1/8"(3.5mm) adapter at each end for my AV compulink connection. In case this was the source of my problem, I picked up a cable with male 1/8"(3.5mm) connectors at each end, but this has not fixed anything. I have no other A/V compulink components hooked up to the receiver and the DVD recorder's compulink setting is properly set to DVD1. The receiver and DVD recorder are properly connected for audio and video. Any assistance you may offer is greatly appreciated. The compulink feature has kept me down to one remote for years, and I purchased the DR-M10 specifically because I thought it would allow me to continue using one remote for basic functions (play, skip, stop, pause, menu selections, etc.).

I would like to ask one question generally for JVC. Please can you tell me what happened to the JVC? I use the JVC since I can remember and once you have been synonymous for quality. Maybe you never been so popular as a Panasonic or Sony, but the quality you have always been at the level of these companies or even higher. The price was usually stronger than the other competing firms. Today is no longer the case. Prices are lower, compared with other first class companies, but you seem that you dropped and quality. Today when you mention, describe you like this: JVC is a very respected name in consumer electronics. JVC may not have the standing of Sharp, Panasonic or Sony, but 1st JVC delivers quality at a lower costs than other 1st tier Japanese manufactured competition. What is the company that bears the name of JVC, in other words, very very bad. As a old fan of JVC I'd love to know why? What happened? I have all of JVC and I know what I am talking about. Today when I want to buy JVC, dealers tell me, is a good but not like... and I do not want to listen that. I will continue to buy JVC, but there is a limit for everything. Also I do not want to be in a subordinate position in relation to users of Panasonic or Sony, to measure with Samsung or LG. JVC name has always represented the highest quality, and if there was a fall, now would be time to return to the old place, the throne. I expect an honest answer. Greeting.
