Convergence problems on AV-48WP30

Can't adjust the red horizontally

Convergenge went out suddenly about a week ago. I can adjust the blue horizontally and vertically. The red will only adjust vertically. However, the horizontal is way out of whack. Any ideas? Thanks

I have a HV-53 with the same convergence problem. I would highly appreciate if someone could send me schematics, guide and info on the "IC's" that have been mentioned throughout this thread. Thanks in advance!

    Hi Eric,

After reading all the posts I see that you're the oracle on troubleshooting this convergence issue. Do you think you could kindly email me the schematics too? Thanks in advance!

I'M ALSO HAVING PROBLEMS WITH A MODEL AV-48WP30. NOW THE RED WILL NOT MOVE HORIZONTALY AND APPEARS TO HAVE A CONCAVE DIP IN IT. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN AFTER SHORTY AFTER THE TV HAS BEEN MOVED. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED WHEN THE TV WAS ONLY 13 MONTHS OLD AND I WAS STILL CHARGED OVER $450 TO REPAIR IT UNDER WARRENTY. 9 MONTHS LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND WAS AGAIN CHARGED $450 TO REPAIR IT FOR THE PART BEING UNDER WARRENTY. NOW THE RETAILER THAT SOLD ME THE SET WANTS TO CHARGE ME $200 FOR ME TO TAKE IT THEIR STORE TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. (THEY WILL COME PICK IT UP FOR AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE OF $75). ANY IDEAS HOW I MAY TAKE CARE OF THIS MYSELF OR JUST JUNK THE SET?

I had a problem with my TV colors not lining up. One day I turned it on and the green was out of wack. I checked this message board and replaced the STK chips, bad soldering and all led to me just giving up on that and buying a whole new Convergence Board ($185). I replaced the missing silver box on the new board and I just plugged this in and though now my Green lines up okay, my red is out of whack. Is there something I am doing wrong? Can anyone help me? Did i miss a step? Frustrated......Bruce

I'm having the same convergenge issue where I can't adjust the red horizontally. Blue adjusts fine.

Can I please get a copy of the fix sent to my email as well.

    Kindest regards,

    Bryan Moscato
