Steve - 9th Oct 2006 19:27 I had the C:31:23 code on my TVR330 about a year ago, accidentally dropped the camera, and it went away. I wish I had made the coorelation then. I had the code come up again this past weekend while watching the Cards beat the Padres (didn't get video, but the still camera worked) and was just about ready to buy a new video camera as I am going to Asia on vacation next week. The fix-the-code craziness continues... I can go without worry about getting the code again!!! Thanks all.

Where is the reset button?
- Re[2]: Error Codes Assistance
Steve Utley - 6th Apr 2007 20:10 1. Most error codes and reset errors are generated by dirty heads and a head cleaner will usually solve the problem.
Tip. Don't use multiple brands of DV tape, it affects the head and the problems occur quicker.
2. Reset is to left of the tape eject button.

Hi there, I saw from the web that you know all about errorcodes with sony cameras. Well we have a sony TRV950 with an error code of C:31:22. Is there a magic way of fixing this without having to send for servicing?

We bought a JVC Digital Video Camera gr- Dvl 510
We never had any Problem unit the last few months. It asked now for a error code 03 Remove and reattach the battery . until than it's on safeguard mode. We did it few times it stays on that. We never bought a new battery for it . But i'm not sure if it's gonna help or if it's not better to buy a new camera. We can take pictures but not videos .
Please let us know ASAP
Thanks Jutta

Hello, THis website is awesome!I have a Sony TRV730. I can't record or do any video playback. The error code being displayed is C:31:23. I have tried all simple procedures over and over again. I have even joined the smacking program that people seem to enjoy so much. It was however, no solution for me. The camera only displays the code when a tape is in. If I have the tape door open and I am looking in, I can only see one rubber roller on the right side. Is that normal? On the opposite side where the roller would be (if it matched) is a piece with two small rod type parts coming up. This is the part that doesn't seem to be fully intact? Do you think that is my problem? Caould I fix that? If I hold the camera in the air and turn it different ways, the little pieces move downward toward gravity. It seems like that mechanmism should be a little more solid. I have some labeled pictures but this email won't allow me to send them. Is there I way I caould do that? I am in Durban South Africa and I can't find a decent place to my camcorder repaired. There have only been a few shady people that I know want to rob me. I am very frustrated with this situation. If you could give some advice I would be very much appreciative. Thank you so much.

Hello Stacy, I sure do hope you could provide me with some direction or help me with the code I'm recieving off my sony dcr-trv17. I bought the camera used and had it for two years. I am now getting a code "c:31:42". The video camera starts up but in a few seconds the code appears. Each time this happens I eject the tape, slip the tape back in and close the compartment to reset the code only for it to appear again in a few seconds. Please help. Thanks Frank
