My JVC 32" TV Model #32D201 the screen goes black and has a white line through the center of it it has no sound

I cant get the video to work on my JVC digital camera and the model # is GR-D3OU when i go to record and after i take the lens cap off it still is pitch black and when i record it only records the sound and no picture. What can i do to fix it?

I have a JVC GRD270US camcorder and its having the much dreaded lens cap error... i saw the list of camcorders on JVC's website that would repair it for free...and my model isnt on there. what am i suppose to do now? anybody kno if i can fix this myself?
