    Hi,

I've had a JVC AV-28WR2EK for 7 years and it has worked fine until recently. Now when the television is switched on it only lasts for about 5 minutes before it switches itself off into Standby mode? Switching it off and then back again causes it do the same thing?

That type of fault would strongly suggest a heat related component breakdown, which for safety reasons causes the power supply to shut back down into its standby mode. It could be absolutely anything that causes that although its most likely to be in the heavier power consuming circuits, and with JVC TV's it could well be centered around the vertical scanning circuit as they are notorious for faults in this area.

Thanks for the reply, I know it's impossible to say so without knowing the exact fault but how much do you think such a repair would cost? Given the age of the television would it better off to buy a new unit?

    I have a JVC model # AV 48WP55.

When plugged in, the power light is lit. However, when I try to turn it on, nothing happens. What can I replace on it to make it work? Even if I have to replace more than what it needs, I don't mind doing that as long as it doesn't get too expensive.

    Thanks for your time.

My GR-D31u doees not show an image on the screen or in the view finder while trying to record. It will play back previously recorded material. The screen remains darkened and the recorder urges me to remove the lens cap while it is already off. Thanks

Unfortunately not! as its the power unit detecting a power consuming fault and immediately switching back into standby for safety reasons, that being its safeguard mode.

    Hello,
    I have the JVC MO # GR-D31U.

One day after it was working just fine for two years, I get a message that says, "Condensation, Operation Paused-- Please Wait"

I did everythign the operational manual says to do, yet the message keeps popping up!

    What should I do?

    Thank you,

    Jordan
