  OMG! I just spressed a bunch of buttons before and the screen would go back to normal. About 5 months of doing this, today it finally died and was static. I tried your suggestion and it worked instantly! GENIUS!

  Bob, I've had the same problem with my DSCW55 Cybershot. Do you know if this fix will work? I called Sony and they had me send it to a repair shop who then informed me it was impact damage and, therefore, voided the warranty. And yep, it would cost $111 to fix. Or I could have them send it back to me unrepaired, which is what I'm doing anyway. I'll certainly try it when I get the camera back. If it works, I'll declare you a demi-god!

  THANKS A BUNCH... THE Warranty I purchased ran out two months ago, and i never seemed to get the problem of the screen resolved. After months of dealing with bad customer service, I was able to fix the problem for myself. Thanks giving me the knowledge I needed.

  Wooooooooow! This worked for me too.. I couldn´t believe it was so easy. I was really stressed when I saw the blank screen on my camera, but now it´s back to normal. Thanks so much for your help!

Hold camera firmly in left hand. 2. Smartly rap front of camera with knuckles of right hand on the "Cyber-shot" logo. Replace the batteries and it will now work. For e-mail, drop the hint.

  ya.............that actually worked...cant believe it...thought camera was messed!!!! happened about 3 times now ...but never took longer than a day or 2for the image to come back, like i said thought was a glitch!!!! that fixed it selve i dont know ... but this time its been a week now and since i didnt try using it guess i coulnt hold there by mistake or something.. now i know the TRICK!!!! THKS!!!!
