I use 128MB Memory Stick and C:13:01 error is occured. please give me advice .

I also lost a 128MB MemoryStick as a reslt of formatting it in an internal card reader slot in my PC. The Cybershot P52 doesn't recognize it anymore, yet it's fine with other memory sticks. I also tried reformatting the stick with the Format M: /FS:FAT /A:8192 trick. The format appeared to work on the stick, but the camera still doesn't acknowledge it. But what I can do is transfer data from my PC to the stick and read it back from the stick using a Sony memory stick reader/writer. When I insert the stick into the internal card reader slot, I noticed that the WIndows assigned drive letter for that reader also went away. When I removed the stick, the drive letter reappeared. This does not happen when I tried it with the other memory sticks (obviously not formatting those in the PC reader slot). Any other thoughts?

And 25 pages and a year and a half later... I have a Sony DSC P100 (nice red camera) and the 32mb card it came with works, but I get the C:13:01 error when inserting a Sandisk Memory Stick Pro 512mb (blue) card into it. Both the camera maker and card maker (both Sony btw) agree that they are compatible. Some bonehead tech at Sony acknowledged it while taking the easy road and saying it was my media (brand new out of the package nonetheless). Anyway, Since nobody has found a solution, and since SOny's website and knowledge bases don't want to address this serious issue, I say we all go to Sony with our cameras and our media cards and throw them into the windows. Riot!! But seriously, I know they're totally trying to cover this up for fear of a massive recall because the inept tech that I chatted with said he's heard of no complaints with media and Sony cameras getting this error! Does George Bush run this company? Because they sure have no connection with reality!

today i bought the sony dsc p150. the standard 32 mb memory stick works fine. i also bought a sandisk memory stick pro 512 mb and took some photos. after loading them down at my apple g4 i also had the error c:13:01. i woul suggest, we return our cameras and want our money back. the first time the problem appeared in this forum was more than 18 months ago and sony was not able to fix that problem - shame on them. i´m really annoyed!!!!

Well I recieved the 61:00 error on my Mavica FD200...I've only had this camera since Memorial weekend 04. Quite disappointed it had already messed up..I babied the thing. Well after getting online and doing a search..i found this board. I highly recommend hitting or dropping the camera as crazy as it sounds..I can now focus and the camera is back to normal. Who knew? I have to say I am quite disappointed that I spent $400 on a piece of crap..no wonder they aren't selling them anymore at wallyworld..quite frankly, even though it works now, I would love to have my money back and buy a different camera..this is rediculous.

Go to http://esupport.sony.com/ Select your camera model In the Knowledge Base section, under Please enter your question: Enter "The camera displays an error code that starts with E or C" It would tell you the page number to your user manual on how to format your memory stick using the camera.
