I own a JVC GR DVL 505 camcorder. when taking a video today it stopped and showed error message: E04 Unit in safeguard mode. Remove and reattach battery. I did as instructed. tried three different, fully charged batteries, to no avail. Same error message.

I've got a JVC GR-DVL307 which powers up and then in about 2 or 3 seconds shows "E01 Unit in Safeguard Mode Remove and Replace Battery". In those few seconds, you can zoom in and out, and even after the E01 the video works fine. The VCR motor never spins and the gate won't power open, but there is no tape stuck inside. Any ideas?

I have an older JVC camcorder GF500. I pulled it out of storage recently and it worked fine several times. But then it couldn't record and has two error codes: -- A >E in upper right corner of view screen. -- A P1YL in lower left corner. Please advise what these mean. Thank you. Ron Deering

I have a JVC HM-DR10000EK DVHS video recorder which I have used for eight years. Recently I recorded off TV several hours of different programmes but they won't play back other than permanently show "error 200". It is usually the case that playback displays error 200/201 for a few seconds and then kicks into the recording. However this time for as long as it is playing it always shows a blank screen and error 200. This has never happened either before or since on this (DVHS)tape. The problem has now re-aooeared on a black SVHS tape. The weird thing is that if I fast forward I can see the programmes I have recorded but obviously at an unwatchable fast speed. Is there any way I can rescue the recording do you think? Many thanks for any advice you can give. Cheers. Andrew

I have a JVC Videomovie GR-323U camcorder. Great cam, has worked perfectly. Been in proper storage for a few years, recently started using again to send old VHS-c movies to computer ...was still working great. Then, changed tapes...powered on...and Bam...nothing! No response period. No shortaged in the cord, & battery wont even power up cam. Hours later..when trying to power up, the red led "power on" light faintly shows power. But no video in eyepiece. Where is the fuse located on this cam?? And what could possibly be the cause? Email info to : leftlanerooster@yahoo.com
