I have a Sony DSC-S85 Camera. After using it at a show I went home as normal to transfer the pics taken to my PC. Upon doing doing so I encountered the message "Disk Error C:13:01" while trying to download the pics to my PC.
I took out the Memory stick and inserted it into a memory stick reader and got the message "the disk in drive E: is not formatted". Is there anyway I can save the pictures on the Stick before trying to format it? It is important that I get the pics and mpgs on the memory stick in question.
Anyone having info other than whats posted here, please send me an e-mail at nazi-b@caribsurf.com or partygrenada@caribsurf.com

I used the program "bad copy pro". I took out the memory stick and used it in a card reader, the proceeded to use "bad copy pro" and recovered all my photos. Note: Whatever files you have on the memory stick, they will all be renamed. Send me an e-mail and I will provide u with a link

i got this same problem on my DC too. I tried to reformat it in PC but PC can't even read it. I also tried to reformat it on my Clie PDA but the card can't be recognized, and no format can be done.

Here's another solution for the C:13:01 error. I also had this problem, but now I know what it is. I have a Sony Cybershot F707 camera with a Sony 256 Memorystick PRO. If you use this stick in this camera you'll get the C:13:01 error, because this camera don't support Memorystick PRO, only Memorystick. When you try another Memorystick (not a Pro-version) the camera will just work fine. And when you try the Memorystick PRO in a F717 for example (this camera supports Memorystick PRO), the Memorystick Pro also will work just fine.

Hi, FALSCH !!! ) Marc.

I am joining this chorus of problems with the C:13:01 Errors. I, too, have lost the very best photos ever, to this irritating problem. I had a Sony CD Mavica 400, and it punked out on me while overseas with this awful error. The shop I where I bought it told me it was cheaper to buy a new Sony CD Mavica 400 than to even have mine looked at...$250 just to look at the camera, and at least that much to repair it. I relented and just bought a new Sony CD Mavica 500. Guess what? The same error message appeared on the third disc I used...I've had it with Sony Mavica. I'm taking it back and getting back my money. Can any of you (1) Recommend any recovery software for my CD; and (2) recommend a better, more dependable digital camera?

ATTENTION LANCE and FRANCES K. THERE IS HOPE! I also have a Mavica cd-400. Until this past Sunday, May 16, I have not had ANY problems with my camera for two years (since I have owned it). It was graduation and the parents of a small class of 20 asked me to take the pictures during Mass when the kids received their diplomas. I used up all of my disk and did not finalize...initialized a new disk and continued. Came home and finalized the disk and WHAM! a ton of bricks hit me when I went to finalize and DISK ERROR 13:01...yikes! I have been crying since Sunday...getting ready to tell everyone tonight about the pictures...I came to this site. SOLUTION: it's not 100% out of 94 pictures I lost 6, which were "special" awards--receiving ribbons, etc....but all my diplomas were recovered. Download a trial version of http://www.cdroller.com/htm/download.html and begin to follow the directions in the manual. With the trial version you cannot "recover" them but can tell if they are on the disk, then purchase the software it for $29.50 I cannot believe it worked! Just a FYI...I was a little frustrated at first when i refreshed and it continued to show nothing in my disk drive...when when i closed everything and went to reopen cdroller icon--they appeared! Good luck...i will continue to look at this post if you have any questions.

I have a Mavica CD-350 and I'm trying to restore pictures from a CD with this error message. I've tried cdroller, but to no avail, yet. I'm still hoping. I've run the UDF scan and 0 objects are found. I know there were pictures on the CD 2 days ago. Any suggestions?
