Michelle - 13th Aug 2005 23:43 I have a Sony TRV108 camcorder that gives me a C:32:30 error message. It won't let me eject the tape. Tried taking the battery out and putting it back in but didn't make a difference. It was giving me a C:31:30 message just previous. Please help! Thanks!

This worked for me...
From SONY support:
Follow this procedure to troubleshoot if the cassette compartment will not open or the tape is stuck and will not eject.
Power off the camcorder.
Remove the battery from the camera.
Remove the AC power supply from the camera.
Slide the power switch on the camera to the VTR mode for 15 seconds.
Slide the power switch back to the OFF position.
Connect the AC power supply to the camera.
Attempt to open the cassette compartment.
NOTE: If the issue is still unresolved after completing all of the troubleshooting steps, service will be required.

Dennis - 15th Aug 2005 1:44 I have a Panasonic DVD/Video CD/CD Player, Model DVD-RV31. I've had it for 4 years plus. Tonight, I put in a DVD to play, it tries to read it several times, and then I get an error code H02. The manual says to press the power to the standby mode and then back to on. This does not appear to have done a thing as I still get the same error. Any assistance you can provide will be appreciated.

sarah - 14th Oct 2005 5:41 I have the HOS message on my DVD player how do I fix?
- Re[3]: Error Codes Assistance
Matt - 9th Nov 2005 4:32 I recently got the same message on all DVD's attempted. I think mine showed up in Oct, but it may have been a little longer ago, as my kids generally use that DVD and don't always me tell things in a timely manner. I tried using a lens cleaning disk with no improvement. Please let me know if you hear anything that might help resolve it. In the meantime, I'm figuring it has died and am shopping for a new (non-panasonic) DVD player (though my cynical mind tells me that brand may make little difference). As the other poster w/ this problem suggested, it would be quite easy and advantageous for manufacturers to design equipment to fail, requiring replacement (even if the technology hasn't been out-moded yet). Many other products (one example is clothes washers in particular) are known by the agents who service them to be designed for a certain life of use. Durability and longevity are not necessarily selling points for electronics. Anyway, I could rant much longer, but I won't. I just started looking for this error code online. I'll re-post if I find anything interesting. Take care and good luck.

Arie - 23rd Nov 2005 3:22 Hi,
I have the DVD-RV31 model as well, and as of yesterday (November 21) got this error (H02) message as well.
I found a workaround for now: Turn off V.S.S. I did that, and it started reading DVDs again.
Hope this helps anyone.
Arie

Arie,
I had the same problem on my Panasonic Home Theater - it happened just yesterday 11/24/05. Here's how I fixed it. First, I disconnected the unit from everything (especially the power) and placed in on a workbench. Ignoring all the warnings in the manual and on the case, I removed the 4 screws on the side of the case and the 2 screws on the back of the case and removed the case. I then could access the disk drive. I plugged the power cable into the unit and turned it on. The disk wasn't spinning - that's why the unit thought there was no disk. I reached down with my finger and gave the disk a little spin. The motor kicked in and the disk started spinning like it should. I turned it off and on a few times to see if it would still work and it did. I replaced the cover and screws and hooked it all back up. It works just fine now. If you decide to try what I did just remember not to touch anything that looks like it could give you a shock.
Good Luck,
Nick

Rick - 21st Jan 2006 3:24 Arie and Nick,
This might be a moot point by now, but I've just now fixed that error (H02). I think Nick was onto something, Arie. I opened the case and started the head spinning. It worked great then. But, I couldn't leave well enough alone. I pushed the clips that hold the reading head in place and removed the whole mechanism to have a look at it. I DO NOT recommend that! But, I got it back in place and now things are hunky-dori. My theory is that, like most electro-mechanical devices, this problem is mechanical in nature. I believe what's happened is a mechanical misalignment in the reading head carriage. Back in the dark ages, I was a electrical engineer who specialized in computer-controlled machinery (CNC). But I still remember a few things. At $50 each, I'll get a new one if it quits again.

I want to say thanks for the great ideas on fixing this problem. I took mine apart and got the head to start spinning. It recognizes the DVD, but when it plays, it starts to skip. After a few minutes, it will eject the DVD. I put in a cleaning disc and the cleaning disk does its job, but the skipping continues. Does anyone have any suggestions?
